Now THAT's taking care of business against a lesser team, especially after a shaky start and down 9 early to winning by 29. Took off when Desi and Carrington came off the bench.

Nice job by KW and the team. Man, Nzei and Delgado dominated. Good to see.

And a Soffer 3PT shooting sighting!

Oh boy ! Maybe you optimistic guys have something.
The rebounding was unbelievable. Great effort on every play.
And Dalton- shades of John Leahy and Nick Katsikis.

The rebounding this year has been refreshing. We've got 3-4 guys that are constantly battling. Was the same story at GW.

This was a game that allowed the Pirates guards to excel at what they do, but they're still going to have to share the ball more effectively once we get into better competition, as we've seen from the games we've lost already.

Good job by the team taking care of RU. Rutgers is really bad. The only thing I didn't like was the play of Whitehead. His shot selection is still poor and too much one on one. Rutgers got out to the lead due to his poor play. He did play better as the game went on.

Delgado played much better today. Really nice games by Desi and Carrington. Btw, Soffer has one hell of a stroke. I wonder if we can get this kid some minutes just to knock down a couple.

Whitehead is perplexing. Today has really been more of the same from him, unfortunately. It's been poor shot selection, poor decision making, ineffective scoring, too many 3's, too many turnovers, a weak-to-bad A:T, tries to do too much on his own, and so forth.

He was 4/15 for 15 points with 4 assists and 3 turnovers. On the season he's now shooting .350 from the floor with 27 assists and 22 turnovers. We'll see if he can improve.

Soffer's shot looks great, doesn't it?

If we do make the tourney someone beside IW & KC will have to score consistently. Hopefully Desi is the guy. I just don't get the constant IW criticism. The guy is the most talented player we've had in years.

Totally agree. He's still learning the point, and he made some nice assists today. We're lucky to have such a super guard. Some guys are never happy. Frank

IW makes great plays and not so great--that's to be expected . The only thing I would like to see is for him to ditch that spin move in the lane. It often gets blocked, and today it went for two points the other way. He can take over a game like Andre and Shah did, so not bad company and those kind of players are few and far between.

Speaking of which, one of Sha's greatest performances was him taking over and willing a victory his senior year at the RAC. Down 5 w less than a minute to go in OT and the Pirates pull it out. Amazing win. Whitehead is that kind of talent and only needs a little better decision-making at times. He will respond.

Whitehead has high expectations. He's a great talent, but he needs to put it together on the floor still. The numbers don't lie.

Finally! The guards got Angel involved offensively.....and he delivered! Now Soffer showed us a little of what he can do. I think he looked very relaxed in the the game. Very chill. Impeccable shooting form. He could be what we desperately need....a 3 pt specialist, a 6'4'' sniper.... to be a very dangerous team. Give Dalton minutes coach. If he can stay cool under pressure, he is a very good asset.

Nice game. I love these guys.
oh....and our uniforms are very rad.

Incredibly gifted player. Judgement with the ball looks the same as last year.

Try to keep in mind that IW is a 2G trying to learn/convert to PG. The kid is an incredible talent and we are incredibly lucky to have him! He will develop and make all of us very proud!

This is a different team when the front line power positions give us more scoring and give us a more balanced offense. Makes the defense play more straighten up defense against us. I said this a couple of days ago that Soffer should be worked into the line-up with a couple of plays run for him to catch and shoot . Not a lot of time but just a couple of minutes here and there. The kid is a pure shooter and getting some time during the OOC part of the schedule could help down the road.

I know IW came in here with the ability to score. However the other things people talked about from the time he committed is his excellent vision on the court and ability to make the players around him better. We've seen that in small doses to this point. As for this he's not a true point guard, I don't believe he needs to be a true point guard for this team to be successful. I think he just needs to be a little more consistent in getting others involved. I was unable to watch the GW game, but today and vs Georgia he seems to be doing it more and more. There are spurts where we see too much individual play, but it's getting to be less and less of that. If that trend continues this will be a good team to watch all year. I think we are making progress each game, but I think the key to the season is for someone to take on some leadership and make sure we don't play 1 on 1 basketball.
