This is a look at the TV ratings of games involving BE teams through last year's BET. While it's not fully comprehensive, it does provide a solid look at real viewing numbers. This is the info that will help drive the valuations for the next BE media rights arrangement.
A couple of quick takeaways. Only five games involving conference teams reached one million or more average viewers. Three of those five were Thanksgiving week games airing on ESPN and one was on CBS.
The fifth was a true outlier game. That was the Christmas Day broadcast featuring Creighton and DePaul on FOX. At just shy of three million viewers that was nearly triple any other game this season. That game shows the power of an NFL lead-in as it followed FOX's broadcast of Green Bay-Miami.
The top broadcast featuring Seton Hall was its December 17 home meeting with Providence on FOX which captured 815,000 viewers.
