Yes, their kids are all "independent contractors". Including those 2 with Ivy League degrees. Meanwhile, everyone here please donate to NIL, allocate all funds towards men's basketball, pay for a $5,000 golf round and pony up for Beefsteak too. Because, you know, our kids aren't "independent contractors". We are different. What is that now 16 independent contractors on the roster?
Look you had to know the minute they got Pitino, along with legal P2P they were immediately going to the top of the league.
You assume this model will work . No guarantees and could very well implode on them. Kentucky learned the one and done model with McDonald's AA after McDonald's AA guarantees nothing but early exits. Will be interesting to see though..Look you had to know the minute they got Pitino, along with legal P2P they were immediately going to the top of the league.
They will give Hurley and UConn all they can handle over these next 5 years or so.
look for those two schools, plus Creighton, Marquette, and Nova to dominate the top 5 spots in the league for the most part…with at most 1 or 2 of them slipping down in any given year.
No one is going to manage the paid hands.
I don't know that he will get a bunch of "1 and dones", as I think he is smarter than that...I do think he will sprinkle in a 5 Star, with a bunch of 4 Stars and be an upgraded version of Nova. You assume this model will work . Can't disagree. Right now it's all played on paper so let's see what happens when they toss it up.I don't know that he will get a bunch of "1 and dones", as I think he is smarter than that...I do think he will sprinkle in a 5 Star, with a bunch of 4 Stars and be an upgraded version of Nova.
Plus...he even states he will bring in 1 or 2 transfers a year...if you think about it, that's not a small number especially if he brings them in fairly early (Soph? Jr?) where they will have multiple years at St. John's (assuming the NCAA's current stance on second time transfers stands).
So I do think they will be successful...remember, it is still NYC with MSG...built in major advantages that for whatever reason prior coaches could not capitalize on.
But Pitino? A NY guy, who is a legendary coach? This is a gimme...
Patience!St John's got their NIL in order...
