In my outside point of view, It appears he is running this team and program as if he’s still at St Peters in 2021.

By all accounts stressing defense first is a great strategy. But when it comes at the expense of offense he needs to adapt.

In the past if you taught your team to play great D and allowed the offense to catch up in a year or two down the road you would probably have a great team.

But that is with the expectation most of your players would be around 3-4 years to learn and develop.

It does us no good to stress defense to these guys when 90% won’t return after every season. He needs to find the balance of offense and defense asap.

He recruited these wingspan type “athlete” defensive players. It’s on him.

Lastly, it’s pretty annoying to watch these guys go out there and look like they’ve never practiced together before. He’s had months now to get these guys going. Adjustments are needed right now and for the future.

He has been an abject failure thus far. Really needs an intervention in order to change and get it going on the right track. His recruiting is poor. His in game coaching is questionable. Communication/relationship with the media/fans is bad. His offense is absolutely putrid. Soon to be 0-for-3 in NCAA bids.

On the other hand, this isn't college basketball anymore. This is minor league pro basketball and Sha/Seton Hall aren't equipped to compete.

You’re the epitome of a fair weather fan and this is a pathetic post. Be better or get off the board. Don’t need this scum

He needs an injection of cash. I fear that judging our seasons on NCAA’s or failure are back to being a thing of the past. Me personally I don’t get upset with relationships with media and fans, I know some people want to feel special, just give me bragging rights with my friends by winning. I don’t care if the media or our fans love our coach or not.

He really isn't if you've been on this board for a while. He's an excellent poster who has been around as long as I have, and I've been around here a long time. He clearly follows the program year round, because you can tell from posts who follows the program year round (beyond them just being on the board). He isn't a kool-aid guzzler by any stretch, and tends to be more objective than some, but he is the farthest thing from a fair weather fan. We disagree sometimes, and agree on other stuff, but he's a die-hard like most of us on here.

Being a diehard doesn't mean you have to live in a world clouded with a lack of objectivity and realism.

I mean last night, one of our other regular contributors posted that St. John's double OT loss to a 13th ranked Baylor team was "bad for the conference" or something? Huh? I get half this board lacks all objectivity when it comes to them, but still.

You can be critical and objective and that doesn't make you a fair weather fan. Truth is we don't have many fair weather fans compared to other NJ sports teams, and if we do, they aren't coming to this board. Most everyone on here is a diehard. You just might not always agree with what they say.

Here we go--it's time to bring up NIL again and again and again--- I guess that SHU is the only school on the planet that doesn't have a load of cash to field a respectable team.
Just out of curiosity when you look at the rankings, who doesn’t have a load of cash?

Cash? F’that- NCAA needs to step up and put a cap on NIL’s. Totally out of hand.

Wow. Brutal take. Abject failure?

Yes, I said the SJU loss was bad for SJU and the conference. It was a lost opportunity for a solid win against a power conference team. It could have helped the BE rating. At the end of the year, we want as many teams as possible in the conference to get into the NCAAs. Obviously, we want SHU in there although it doesn't appear to be the case this season. SJU should make it, but you never know as we witnessed last season.

In my opinion Sha needs more funds without question, but they are not evaluating many of their incoming transfers properly. The truth may be in the middle ground.

Since 2016, Only year we weren’t a tournament team was the covid bubble year before the coaching change. Now we’re staring at a 3rd straight year without the NCAA’s. Is that what you projected 2.5 years ago? Remember when losing in the first round of the NCAA’s wasn’t good enough?

Considering that how else would you describe it? There’s a lot of work to be done with this group. But I can’t say 09s take is off base. The biggest positive for this group is there’s a lot mediocre to bad big east teams this year. A lot of winnable conference games in my opinion.

Some good, some bad with Holloway. His offense has always been horrible, although it looked good during that St. Petey run.

Already some whispers out there that he's a goner at the end of the year. Wouldn't shock me. I think he sees that Seton Hall is toast like Kevin did.

Not saying Sha doesn’t deserve some criticism, but the reality is he came back to The Hall at the absolute worst possible time in regards to the upheaval of college athletics. If things were as they were even a handful of years ago, I have very little doubt he would be matching the success of the Willard era and possibly even better.

It’s just very unfortunate that we inherited Holloway at his hottest moment, and yet the circumstances of college hoops was about to nullify everything as we knew it. It was typical Seton Hall luck. Even as we all embraced Sha taking the helm, there was something nagging in my mind saying “this is too good to be true for us. Something is going to screw everything up”. Premonition fulfilled.

Again, Sha is not infallible, but college athletics got turned on its head. Suddenly we go from a program that has been successfully reestablished, to being on the outside looking in. I’m not sure how much of that can be blamed on Sha. That said, I feel outlook is as cold as our field goal percentage.

Where are these whispers coming from? All I see is Goodman taking shots at our NIL with every chance he gets. Haven’t seen anyone mention him leaving. Source?

Seton Hall is not going to eat money still due on Sha’s contract by cutting ties with Sha in the early years of his contract so to think he’s gone at this point in time is unrealistic. Remember that his contract with SH is for 6 years at $2.4 million a year plus incentives.

But they won't end at this point probably can't. Emmert's failure to act on this in a timely manner effectively killed college sports as we knew it. Nobody's putting the genie back in the bottle. This is the new reality. The choice is adapt or die.

Ummm which fan base or AD is saying remember that guy who coached St Peters 3 years ago, look what he’s doing now. Oh yea I want that here at our school. I need to bring that here.

Louisville did. Maybe with more $ for pay for play and an administration that wasn’t clueless he’d be a bit better.

But why him and not the 75-100 other coaches claiming the same thing. Guys at every mid major are claiming that too.
