Is he injured? If he isn’t, his benching is starting to say more about him then anything else. If he can’t get minutes above Odukale and Harris then we have some major issues this year AND going forward.

What? The kids a freshman. You’re going to play him in a BE game on the road? I think Sha has done a good job getting him some minutes in big games (home vs PC) but he’s not ready yet for this kind of atmosphere.
Being a freshman hasn’t been an issue for 20 years. It Hasn’t stopped others from being all conference, all American. Not saying he’s that level but we have to stop the babying of freshman. Especially when the guys in front of him have been terrible. Either he’s good enough to play at this level or he isn’t..

I think he’ll allocate playing time by ability to defend. I’m sure he’s looking at the stats and can see that if we just hit half of our missed free throws, we would be 2-0 in our conference and off to a great start in the league.

Maybe if sanders played we would’ve.. who knows. But it’s gotta be time to try something different.

At the Providence game, Sha went ballistic and pulled Sanders from the game for a defensive lapse. If he’s not ready defensively, then he’s not ready to play ball for Sha. He’ll get there. Give it time. But I also know this— he would not have been the reason we won or lost last night. He’s just not a difference maker at this point. Alternatively, Tae Davis gets a lot of time because he plays ball the way Sha needs him to play ball.

I don’t understand what Femi brings to this team. It’s hard to believe he scored 10 pts per game at Pitt. He hasn’t hit a 3 since Wagner and is shooting 30% overall. He may challenge Molson for consecutive missed 3’s.

If Dawes and Harris aren't making shots, there's no reason not to give him a couple minutes to see if he can make a shot. Plus, at this rate, we're not going anywhere in the postseason so might as well get him some playing time and keep him happy.

Agreed. Not going to get experience on the defensive end in limited practice. Get him 10 15 minutes a game

Jamir is shooting 22.6 from 3 and 57% from FT line. Huge issue for a 5th year senior

Either his shoulder is bothering him more than we are being told or he has 100% lost all confidence in his game.

What he brought last night was 8 points, 9 boards (lead the team) and 4 assists. Granted 3 TO’s but I’ll take that from Femi every night. He’s also our best defender. While I think his minutes could be cut a bit Femi is not the problem.

More importantly have him develop.

Wanting to see Sanders play isn't a bad idea. If would be nice to see him get a little bit of run.

Thinking Femi is the one whose minutes Sanders should be taking shows people have no concept of his value on the defense end.

Every move that you (or in this case Sha) make has consequences on both ends of the floor.

I understand people want to see him play, but playing time is something that is earned. None of us know whether or not he's earning it in between games. I'll leave that up to the staff to determine. I'm not at practice daily so I don't know if he should be on the court or not. I'm going to trust the staff.

Do you really think Sha doesn't want to put a team on the floor that doesn't give him the best chance to win?

We don't see what these kids do in practice and just because he makes one or two three's, doesn't mean he's ready to play significant minutes.

That’s exactly my point! Man people don’t know how to comprehend writing.. if he can’t beat out two guys at his position then we are in major trouble this year AND next..

Not sure what this year had to do with next. Nobody thought Mamu over TT the following year in 2018. Nobody thought Gill over Ike during 2019 for 2020. Nobody thought Shavar over Nelson going into a season. Players put in the work or they don’t.

Sanders is a nice player at this point, nothing more. I've seen little in his minutes on the floor to tell me he deserves to be playing over Odukale and Harris. As others have pointed out, Sha likely hasn't either. Otherwise he would be playing more. It's Sha's job to give the team the best chance to win and that usually involves playing your best players.

Odukale brings far more than what you see in a box score. Usually it's what you don't see on the other team's box score. Harris is more of an issue given his offensive struggles but he still brings more defensively and is a better ballhandler when asked to do so than Sanders is.

Sanders is a freshman, he'll get better over time. To paraphrase a former coach his time isn't now.

Harris will eventually come out of his slump.... we need his 3's. I like Odukale's game. I could see why Sha plays him..... although I would kindly ask him not to take any more threes.

What exactly do you like about his game? He shoots 30% overall and 15% from 3. He hasn’t made a 3 in 8 games. In the last 5 he’s had 16 turnovers. He’s averaged 4 rebounds and 2 assists. I guess he’s playing defense though. Problem is at this level you can’t be this one dimensional. I hope this is a slump and he comes out of it but to me he’s looking like Molson all over again.

What does Harris do better than Sanders? Based on play this year, nothing.

You shouldn’t be playing a 6year player over a freshman who isn’t helping the team.
