Jerry at Media Day

Point 5 made by Jerry was on target. Media Day is always a big event. Usually at Walsh spread out over the entire arena. But with Marquette volleyball (yes, that's not a misprint) practicing there, forcing the SHU women's BB team down to the Aux Gym, the entire event was held in the video room with the small capacity of 45 people.

We so badly need a legitimate BB structure and hopefully in 18 months time, winter weather permitting, that will happen.

Great article as always by Jerry.
With Malachi probably not being ready and Harris out indefinitely, Sanders is not only the 1st guard off the bench, he's the only guard off the bench.
Looks like Coleman is the only 3 off the bench also. Hoping he can give us 10-15 minutes.

Not necessarily. Both Davis and Sada can play the 3. And in a pinch the 2 as well.

When I went to practice Friday a coach came up to me and said they were going to have a lot of different lineups throughout the season. Mix and match. He was really high on the team.

I know nothing about construction but was told that besides good weather that switch gear for a new building is important. Something to do with power . If anybody knows about that and can explain the importance of that it would be appreciated .

Dan, from what you saw

1. Do you see Sada as more of a 4 or a 3?

2. If Tubek is out a bit do you foresee the 2 bigs occasionally on the floor at the same time, with EHE at the 4?

Sanders definitely looked in better shape..
Was really encouraged by Richmond. He's slimmed down and looks to have a quicker step and burst.
The freshman Coleman gonna be good. Think he will get some minutes..

Apparently this is true; can be anywhere from a year to 2 years. Hopefully they ordered this very early in the process...or perhaps are shopping a re-built one...which has a lower lead time.

Cant wait to see the new KR. He looked so together physically on Saturday, sleek, long and fast. His new look and the words of Sanders really encourage me, making me think that the guys have bought in to Sha hook line and sinker.

My excitement is building. Cant wait!!

I was told the same thing. That you should pre order it and have or there will be a delay without it and that the completion date will not be made.

Sada is a stretch 4 with a little more consistency on his jumper. Very good handle for a big man. Needs weight and strength. Not ready for major minutes right now but has big time potential.

I asked EHE if he could play the 4 and as expected he said yes. Not sure if that'll happen except in a pinch.

Your position is based on who you can guard. I can't see either of our 2 bigs guarding 4s in space and making all the switches required on Sha's Defense.

I'm on the Sanders bandwagon. I think he'll provide a nice lift drilling 3s off the bench. Question is can he hold his own defensively so he can play extended minutes.

He, Coleman and EHE should all be OK offensively off the bench. But until shown otherwise, I expect a big drop off defensively.

The injuries and inexperience of most of the bench are a concern. It illustrates how we are 1 or 2 BE-type players from being a solid top-half team. If we could have returned either of Tyrese or Femi our depth would be much stronger. Even Tae Davis as a 2nd year player in Sha's program would be helpful at the 4.
