Jerry on Godswill

Jerry writes that there's no more roster spots. What about Harris? Isnt he done playing due to injury?

He’s technically still on the roster and has eligibility, so that’s what Jerry can report on.

Actually Mike did not look raw in hs as i remember.
True but he had to sit out a year due to “academic” issues related to his transcripts. So when he finally got on the court it was after a year of development with Willard and his staff.

Needed. Would like to see us go get some shooters to replace Dawes.

Oh come on. The staff has been blasted here for 18 months. The lead recruiter just got his second guy.

And I'm happy we got this player. I didn't think we would.

Dan was the one who highlighted on here and the Trove that both our recruits this Fall are Davis recruits. Every recruit on Twitter mention Sha and/or Davis.

So since your answer to my question was "oh come on." ... I'll assume you have no idea what our other staff members are contributing to our recruiting. Thanks, because neither do I.

The roster stuff is so confusing these days. Who can even say in November with how much they turnover by Spring really?

Bediako and Dawes are already using their 5th year this season. I wonder how it'll shake out for Davis and Addae-Wusu. Technically they could return thanks to this ongoing COVID year thing. And with NIL, they possibly could make more doing that.

Interesting for a guy who was derided by many as a very poor choice for our staff.
I think the consensus on the board was not that he was a “very poor choice” but that he’d ideally be the number 2 recruiter. I think most on here even liked Whalen, coming off the ncaa tourney, as the third assistant.

The board disappointment was that the spot then used for the third assistant felt like it should have been used to bring in someone as a lead assistant and increase the depth/quality of the staff.

Davis is rewarding the trust Sha has in him this week for sure

It's unlikely that Richmond will come back for a 5th year and Harris will unfortunately be gone because of his injury.

Plus who knows what other things will happen at season's end.

And if he did come back for 5th year, it would be for Power 5 school that offers him way more money than we could afford.

We're done... For now. College basketball has more moving parts than ever before so might as well relax until tomorrow's game

I recall some pointed comments about Davis being unqualified for the Big East. There were also more than a few uncalled-for personal comments about his physique.

I took the oh come on reference to mean oh come on why is your first reaction to this good news just another opportunity to criticize. This time being the staff that you perceive aren’t contributing.

Dan brought up Davis getting both of these recruits. So I simply asked a question about the rest of the staff.

If people take that question as criticism, maybe we have a problem?

I have no idea. I never have.

I saw Derm as the recuiter under Bobby, Freddie under TA, sha under KW. And now I see Davis as the recruiter under Sha

It isnt that uncommon for one asst to be the man in recruiting. So to me now is time to praise the staff for doing a good job. Like, we got two good playhers in the early signing period. Nice.

To each their own.

And once KW got a D-1 staff we heard about FHJ, Sha, Grant recruits or Skinn and Grant recruits.

And yes, I'm glad we got these two players. Now we just need a power forward and a point guard lol.

I took it as a criticism. Which would’ve been your right. I thought we had a problem, but I’m growing less and less concerned.

So when you asked “What are the others adding to the staff?” You were looking for an answer to what jobs our staff members are performing and not hinting that they aren’t contributing? Got it and my apologies for misunderstanding your question as a criticism.

When everyone was dumping on Rasheen, I never did. I legit would like to know what the other staff members are adding.

If that question is viewed as a criticism by people here, maybe that gives us our answer. If that question is also never answered, maybe that gives us our answer as well.

As I said in response to 75, we always heard about FHJ, Grant, Sha, Skinn recruits/commits under KW. And at times 3 of them were on staff at the same time.

The challenge now is going to be how to balance the classes and hopefully attract some experienced players through the portal. Teams will not be able to solely build teams with HS players. They will go hard after more developed players in the portal and now we will see how we do ($$$) in that regard at the end of the year. Great start to getting two very good HS players on the roster. Well done!

In college sports today there is never any certainty about whether a player with eligibility remaining is going to return to the team he’s on now or transfer or even leave to play pro ball. Then when you add in players now being paid it creates another factor that has to be considered when you trying to retain a player with eligibility the following season.
