EHE was sorely missed. Related, I thought Ozdogan did alright in his 5-minute stretch.Last night was exact reason to play EHE because Jaden in foul trouble. Why bring a guy recovering from a concussion on a cross country trip on flights if you’re not going to play him? Certainly not going to help his recovery.
Fresh legs meaning quality depth. I do agree Sanders should have seen more than 2 minutes given Dawes performance. What does Sha mean "I wish we had legs"?Hope he's referring to lack of quality depth. No excuse to be tired at this point in the season.
Bediako was a machine on the offensive glass in this tournment. He had 6 offensive rebounds against USC, 7 against Iowa. Damn. 🍻 He also had 4 and 5 in games earlier this season.Thought from seeing the game in person:
The Iowa game was a different game if Elijah was healthy. The only reason to bring Elijah out west is if they thought he may be healthy enough to play. Otherwise, it was a mistake to bring him. You let him heal. Jaden Bediako played a damm good game. Pleasantly surprised seeing how good he is at getting boards and putting the ball back in. Isaiah has a ton of skill and I see him as a very good player especially on the defensive side. Arda had a couple good moments but he really needed a redshirt year. Iowa has too many bigs and it's just not the best matchup for Arda.
The problems with this team are roster related. Richmond, Dre Davis (if healthy) and Isaiah are the only players on the roster who had elite talent. Wusu is all effort. Dawes does have potential to get hot.
Go Pirates!
If this was in response to me I would suggest you read more closely. I said EHE can provide some reinforcements. Obviously JB can’t play 40 minutes. I didn’t say Coleman should start, I said with him we could get some improved play from those two positions. Dre has been our most dependable player. Sure you can find fault with aspects of his game but c’mon, where are we without him?How would EHE have helped when he was a non-factor against 4 dregs of Div 1 basketball?
Really like Coleman but if you start him you have almost no outside shooting in the starting lineup and he fouls so much the other team will be in the bonus that much sooner. Riding with Dawes can be a killer but Coleman isn’t a natural replacement for him.
Love Dre but you can easily tell when he’s going to the tin regardless of the defense and he never passes out of it or stops and pops.
On EHE, So Cal Brett, not you.If this was in response to me I would suggest you read more closely. I said EHE can provide some reinforcements. Obviously JB can’t play 40 minutes. Agree with your last point. Obviously need Richmond. On EHE, So Cal Brett, not you.
On Dre, I would suggest you read more closely. I said love him but against good (but not top 25) competition, he wasn't all that good. Playing out of position but don't constantly drive into double teams and think you can beat it all by yourself.
Why is it OK for you to say similar about Richmond? C’mon, where are we without him?
He only played in two games, not four and in those two games, his first as a Pirate, he was pedestrian. How would EHE have helped when he was a non-factor against 4 dregs of Div 1 basketball?
On EHE, I may have assumed too much. I really did not get to see him play that much this year. The FDU game was lopsided and I missed most of the St. Peter's game. I just saw how Iowa dominated on offense in the 1st half based on size and that Arda was not ready for that. I assumed EHE size would help.On EHE, So Cal Brett, not you.
