If you were a reporter who wrote a story that you knew damned well was accurate that everyone (including your fellow reporters!) said was a bunch of lies you'd have an axe to grind too.

In all fairness, to me that was nothing but an editorial with no apparent facts and a pretty one sided POV. We all know Willard lost the locker room last season for a number of reasons. Is it fair to blame Whitehead? Was Gibbs the real problem? All of the above? We probably won't know until mostly everyone on the current staff and roster are long gone.

In sure they were. But today both carino and pelzman made comments on Twitter about how bad the locker room really was. Very bizarre that either they didn't know it then or that they suddenly are willing to acknowledge it. Or maybe they were both just too close to sterling to keep their mouths shut today. They both fawned over him today after the news broke.

I don't think a veteran writer who's been around the program like Hague goes out of his way to post nonsense. He's likely nailed it.

Willard's not a good leader and he bit off more than he could chew with the 2014 class and all the tricks he pulled to get them - tricks needed because he couldn't do the job in the first place.

A year ago this board was lit up with posts about how all this would come together. So why are we surprised?

If true, either IW or Willard must insist that the entourage must end. At the very least it must end when it comes to basketball practices and related team events/activities.

Someone in the media needs to take Willard to task for his complete ineptitude. None of the local and beat writers have any interest in doing it because they want to keep in place their peripheral access to information. (They still get scooped by Kline anyway). We should be glad that someone is calling this out.

Nothing that Hague reported originally has failed to hold up. His mentions of racial tension will never be confirmed, so all we can say at this point is that all of what has gone down since that article has pointed to there being major, major problems within Willard's locker room.

Yes, I agree. But when a good player is on a team coached by a bad coach who he hasn't liked for a while, does he really need another reason to leave when he can leave with no penalty and pick his next school? The writer made it sound like that was the only reason. There were plenty.
