One of the few modern US presidents who I believe were truly good men deep down inside. Also wasn't afraid to speak his mind about those who came after him, regardless of party.
What a full life. From the Navy, to peanut farmer, to governor, to POTUS, to world renowned humanitarian and Nobel prize winner, to elder statesman and nearly 100 years of life. The man was a world class fighter too, having beat cancer and overcome various other health issues.
The politics of his time in office are irrelevant. More of us should aspire to be like Jimmy Carter the man. I hope his final days are comfortable and peaceful.
