Just saw John Fanta's post game on Twitter, guess it was the PSN clip. Forgive my ignorance but is he still a student?? If so, he is one of the most polished student broadcasters I've seen. When I was on WSOU back in the day, we were nowhere near him. Just my opinion but I think he has a great career ahead of him.

He's a senior. There was a story about 2 months ago that said he basically was the best student broadcaster in school history.

I said all of the above during the fall of his freshman year.

I believe I called him "the natural."

It's very cool to see the Ohio native living his dream.

Does he do the play by play and Hallline? Or does he just do these promo clips and stuff like that's?

I believe he's done play by play previously but he wasn't doing it on WSOU this week. Not sure who was doing it today but I'd like to offer them some constructive feedback but this isn't the right place for it.

Talked to John before the game. He's real. About as friendly as anyone could be.

So many times you see people on TV or in the media who only roll out the charm when the cameras are on. Not John Fanta. As genuine as a person can be.

Yesterday before the game he introduced me to his mom. Talk to her for one minute and you can see why John is John. A delightful (and proud) women.

BTW, John Fanta besides doing what he does in front of the mike is a 4.0 student. Where does he find the time?

Everyone should try to meet him. Just the nicest young man. Wants to know your story and loves anyone that is Seton Hall related. Told me he is working on some things to get his career going the last time we chatted. Actually there are a ton of kids like him on campus right now who are on the right path. The school is doing a hell of a job developing young people.

I look forward every Friday to watching on Deck with John Fanta. Yes it is that good and he is Hilarious and informative at the same time. Awesome job.

Your right the school is really helping these students grow. I miss Ryan Flannery thought he did an amazing job when he got his opportunities. He was great on the call in shows.

John Fanta will be one of the great network broadcasters.

In 1952 , Vin Scully joined the Brooklyn Dodgers broadcast crew straight from the Fordham campus.
He had worked at WFUV, their radio station.

He retired this October after 67 years with the "Brooks" . ( Old habits die very hard)

John Fanta, the Pride of the Hall , will have a similar story.
