NEWARK – Marquette had scored six straight points to cut Seton Hall’s lead to three with less than 12 minutes to go. The Pirates’ momentum was teetering.................

This quote from JP's article resonates.....

But don’t tell that to Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard deflected questions about the NCAAs, saying his message to his team is to “enjoy the process” and not look ahead.

Time and time again that question was posed to Willard and on each and every occasion he deflected it as noted above.

One reporter in particular (from the NY Post) kept harping on it with little sucess. Staying in the moment is the best way for any coach to answer the question as Willard did.

The guys are enjoying passing the ball to each other.

Love this quote as well.

One of the reasons why watching our half court offense is no longer like going to the dentist.

I agree that "enjoy the process" is the total right answer. Very few teams are a lock at this point, and we've learned so many times that you really can't "plan" for a bid. Just play to win every night. I hope Saturday is a blow out and we get that much closer.

Passing the ball goes along with confidence in each other, guards that can rely on their bigs to finish is crucial to "team ball." We have those bigs now. God this team is fun!

It also relies on guys knowing where to go when certain things happen. We have gone from a team with awful spacing with players not sure of where to be to a team that can find the open man all game long. Angel gets doubled, he finds the open man on first look. All the guys are in synch. And yes, this is SO fun to watch. We are tough, athletic, smart, talented and entertaining.

Earlier in the season people were saying be patient they are only sophomores. Others would barking back that's not an excuse. Prior to the WSU game, I don't think that statement about sharing the basketball was true, but this team has grown, developed, and matured very quickly. Their work is far from done, but the progress over the last 6 weeks has been tremendous, and lot has changed since Willard started using the bench as a motivational tool. During the rough patches we heard a lot of "it all starts and ends with Willard." Great job by the coach getting these guys to buy into sharing the basketball. I can only hope they keep this style of play up. I can get used to this winning thing.
