Just thinking about how stats may shape up for the roster this season....

Carrington - 13 to 15 PPG, 3 to 5 APG
Desi - 12 to 14 PPG, 4 to 6 RPG, 2 to 3 APG
Ish - 6 to 8 PPG, 6 to 8 RPG
Delgado - 11 to 13 PPG, 10 to 12 RPG
Jones - 5 to 7 PPG, 3 to 4 APG
Thomas 6 to 8 PPG, 3 to 5 APG
Powell - 6 to 8 PPG, 1 to 2 APG
Nzei - 4 to 6 PPG, 4 to 6 RPG
Singh - 3 to 5 PPG, 1 to 3 RPG
Gordon - 2 to 4 PPG
Anthony - 1 to 2 PPG, 2 to 3 RPG
Soffer - 0.5 to 1 PPG

So do we think we can replace IW's offense (18 PPG) between Jones, Thomas, Powell?

I don't see us having a player that can go off for 20+ on any given night, although I'm sure Carrington will have a few 20+ PPG. To me, that is our biggest issue, we don't have the take over type of player. We still need to get out in transition, but will definitely need to make Delgado the focal in the half court and try to take advantage of hopefully getting some open looks on the perimeter with the kick outs.

Desi averaged 12.4 last season. KC 14.1 and Angel 9.9.

They all better increase their ppg output by 3-4 from last year. That's 9-12 of IWs points.

You also forgot Myles Carter who I believe will be Angels backup. And I think Nzei, Ish & Carter can all give you about 4-6 ppg. That's 2-3 putbacks/dunks each.

Powell/Thomas/Jones/Gordon will surely be able to score a little.

Plus if Singh hits 1 three each game that'd be more than last year.

Pretty sure that covers IWs 18?

I think both Carrington and Rodriguez have the ability to go for 20 ppg, but I'm not sure if the offense will allow them to do that. If Carrington has the ball in his hands as much as Whitehead did last year, then he has a chance. I think both will end up averaging in the 14 to 18 range.

I think we'll score plenty of points from the returning five key players improvements. But will the defense suffer with these newbies? Remember it was the defense that made last years team very good. I think it will slip just enough to hurt us in close games and we end up losing a few more games this year.

the defense not only limited our opponents' scoring, but also gave us opportunities to score in transition. Not sure what our % of points scored were off the break, but you really need to get some easy offense to be a good team. I think we'll still be pretty good.

Here's how I see it:

Carrington 15.0
Rodriguez 13.0
Delgado 10.0
Powell 7.0
Sanogo 5.0
Nzei 4.0
Singh 4.0
Jones 4.0
Thomas 4.0
Gordon 3.0
Carter 2.0
Anthony 1.0
Soffer 1.0

Here's how I see it:

Carrington 15.0
Rodriguez 13.0
Delgado 10.0
Powell 7.0
Sanogo 5.0
Nzei 4.0
Singh 4.0
Jones 4.0
Thomas 4.0
Gordon 3.0
Carter 2.0
Anthony 1.0
Soffer 1.0

Think you have Nzei too low at just 4 ppg , I see him as at 8ppg . I see Carrington at 17 ppg and Desi at 14 ppg.

I expect considerably more from Nzei and Ish this year. At least 15 per game combined.

Nailed it here and Hallgrad said the same. The missing link is we need more from Ish or Nzei on the offensive side. 15 points combined should be the minimum, but would work. If they aren't a threat you are going to see a lot more pressure on our guards which will make our results scattered with games where they are going off/comfortable, and games where we are getting clobbered because they are under constant pressure. Make the defense work on our PF, and not rely just on guard scoring or garbage points.

Here's how I see it:

Carrington 15.0
Rodriguez 13.0
Delgado 10.0
Powell 7.0
Sanogo 5.0
Nzei 4.0
Singh 4.0
Jones 4.0
Thomas 4.0
Gordon 3.0
Carter 2.0
Anthony 1.0
Soffer 1.0

If I've added correctly that comes out to 73 points a game not far off from the 74.3 ppg from last season.

As far as creating offense from steals, I think this year's team will be as good or even better than last year's team.

KC=16
Desi=13
Angel=12
Ish + Nzei =12 (5 and 3.5 to 7 and 5)

Powell=7
JT + MJ=6 (both have averaged a point per 5 minutes in college, i'm not seeing 11-15 points between the two of them.)
Veer+EG+Soffer=4

Carter + Anthony=2

I expect Carrington to pick up more of the scoring load than Desi. It's easy to forget how many of Desi's baskets came as a result of IW's passes. They had a special connection on the floor.

Don't forget efficiency. As good as IW was, you forget the amount of turnovers and poor shot selection. Each one of those awful shots is pretty much a turnover.

13-15 for Delgado. His hook has improved, and it seems that the coaches would want to showcase that they can develop big men (just in the nick of time for that recruiting need).

I agree - loved Whitehead but his low efficiency hurt the team at times. I see Carrington, Desi and Delgado scoring more and perhaps more within the flow of the game. Wont be as spectacular, but maybe more balance will be a plus. And I think the bench is much stronger offensively. Jevon is a defensive bulldog like Derrick Gordon - he will stop more points than he scores. I'm ok with that.

Rodriguez 13.0
Delgado 10.0
Powell 7.0

I think it will go like this...

KC - 16
DR - 12
AD - 11.5
MP - 7.5
MN - 7
IS - 6
VS - 5
EG - 5
MJ - 3.5
JT - 3.5
MC - 3
RA - 2.5
DS - .50

I just don't see it, both are junkyard dog types on offense.

I agree with you about Ish: a junk-yard dog in all the best ways. Thought we brought Nzei in, though, as more of an offensive-minded guy.

I also agree for Angel to increase his scoring. Not the 1st or 2nd option but have him touch the ball more often, he is too good not to. When he scores he seems to be into the game more.

I can see Desi as the leading scorer this season. Has all the tools to be a 18-20 PPG scorer and 1st team all BE player. The question is the consistency and can he stay under control if things aren't going well. Hard question to answer.

Also, Hall is going to need Singh to be a contributor off the bench hitting the 3 ball. I can't imagine he can be as bad as he was last season.

The issue with Desi as you point out is being consistent. I can see him scoring 25+ points one game and 10 the next game .

I think Angel will be 15 ppg minimum. He will stick jumpers and drive to the basket along with his jumphook. Will be most improved offensive pkayer for us.

If Angel hits 65% from the foul stripe, that gets him to 12-13 points per game without doing anything different on offense. But I also think he will improve offensively.
