They used to live in West Essex county. Their daughter was in the same little pre-school class with our oldest on the Caldwell College campus....but that was like 25 years ago. Never saw Sam, but we saw his wife quite a bit....I guess he was busy.

The alitos lived in the town I grew up in. I was in their sons grade, we played baseball together through school. My sister was in their daughters grade and swam together through school. Interesting people, lol. We still get a Christmas card from them.

He was sitting two rows behind the bench with a retired SHU priest that he is friends with. Very nice guy, shook hands with all the SHU alumni in the area and took the time to speak with the fans that approached him which I thought was great. I'm pretty sure he catches the SHU vs Georgetown game every year. With him in attendance I think there were about 1,926 fans...
