GLEN HEAD, N.Y. – Senior Patrick Kahanek (San Antonio, Texas) capped a career-best tournament with a 1-under-par, 69, on Tuesday to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a second-place finish at the Shark Invitational.
Kahanek had to birdies and 15 pars in route to a 1-under-par, 69, in the final round to finish just one stroke shy of the individual title. Instead, he finished in second place among 71 individual golfers with a 4-under-par, 68-69-69-206. Boston College's Ben Hong won the individual title at 5-under-par after a 3-under final round.
It's Kahanek's third career sub-par tournament and his first top-5.
As a team, The Hall shot its best round of the event, a 2-over-par, 282. The Pirates finished second in the field of 12 teams with an 11-over-par, 286-283-282. Boston College won the team title at 5-under-par after shooting 7-under today alone.
Senior George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) and junior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) ended up tying for 18th place for the tournament. Fricker shot a 2-over-par, 72, on Tuesday and finished the tournament, with a 74-69-72-215. Lally had a 4-over-par, 74, in round three and finished with a 70-71-74-215.
Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) turned in his best round of the tournament on Tuesday. The sophomore had an eagle on the par-5, No. 18 hole to power an even-par, 70. For the event, he tied for 28th place with a 9-over-par, 75-74-70-219.
Freshman Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) had a nice bounce-back round on Tuesday, finishing with a 1-over-par, 71. For the tournament, he was 13-over-par with a 74-78-71-223.
Seton Hall's "B" team slipped on Tuesday, finishing eighth with a 35-over-par, 290-284-301-875.
Leading the Pirates' "B" team on Tuesday was again Jack Bosworth (Myrtle Beach, S.C.). The sophomore shot a 2-over-par, 72, in round three. For the tournament, he tied for eighth overall with a 2-over-par, 72-68-72-212. It's Bosworth's third career top-10 finish.
Sophomore Isaiah Williams (Flemington, N.J.) slipped a bit on Tuesday, shooting a 7-over-par, 77. For the tournament, he tied for 24th place with an 8-over-par, 71-70-77-218.
Rounding out the Pirates' "B" team, freshman Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) finished with a 12-over-par, 73-73-76-222, senior Angus O'Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) had a 15-over-par, 76-73-76-225, and Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas) was 18-over-par with a 74-76-78-228.

THE FIELD
In addition to Seton Hall and host LIU, the field featured teams from Adelphi, Boston College, Bryant, Hartford, Holy Cross, Hofstra, Lafayette, Siena and Weber State.
THE FORMAT
The teams will played five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

Seton Hall will return to tournament action, April 26-28, when it heads to the marquee event on its calendar, the BIG EAST Championship. The Pirates will look to defend their title at Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C.
