In a review of 351 container ports around the globe LA was ranked 328 and Long Beach was ranked 333.This Is the Contanier Port Performance Index ranking published by the World Bank.Asia ports as expected were ranked the highest since they are way ahead on automating unloading.Unions only represent 7% of private workforce ,but they can still dig in and fight automation to save their jobs and if we have to wait for goods too bad.

Go Florida!

Florida turnpike was one of my customers a few years ago. We had several discussions about how they were making life easier for truckers to facilitate more commerce through the ports.
At the time they were competing with the other ports in Alabama and Louisiana.

Regarding Biden I wouldn't be surprised if he appoints Harris as the port czar and considers the problem solved. God help us.

From another article, supposedly the union Crane operators in Cali get paid 200k, take 2 hour lunch breaks together so the activity stops completely. If the truck drivers complain about the operators , they face reprisals.
