I saw this tweet and was wondering if anyone has stayed in Vegas recently and if there is anything new to visit or do while there. Was there about 4-5 yrs ago. Thanks in advance.

I was there before the pandemic and played golf at a course called Los Prados and another called Angel Park. It was hot

I went before the pandemic and from what I’ve learned from people who have been there recently that the strip isn’t the safest place to walk down. You don’t have the tourists walking out there since they aren’t visiting right now.
Someone I know went with his wife and he told me he wouldn’t go out on the strip by himself, he would never let his wife walk outside the casino by herself under no circumstances.
Maybe VegasPJ can give some info?

I live in Vegas and have for the last 27 years. Things are different these days, the pandemic really hurt tourism and the convention business and the Strip is feeling the effects.

Rooms are dirt cheap ( $20 a night on the Strip) and it has brought the wrong crowd.

There have been a number of incidents ( shootings), but i would not fear walking on the strip. Like everywhere, be mindful of your surroundings .

One thing I will say is the police are old school and will clean up the strip, they know it is our lifeblood and it will be safe . A number of shows are closed because of limits on attendance and that takes away a lot of entertainment. Golf is plenty and great( it will be 68 this week, perfect Golf weather) and most good courses are public, expensive but public.

This week should be CES, the biggest show , yet it is empty.

Our unemployment is still double digits, yet housing is on fire because everyone is moving from California and escaping their high taxes . Long story short, yes there have been strip incidents, but generally, the strip is safe.

Also check out Circa downtown, the world's largest sports book and the outdoor pool is amazing.

CES and NAB usually brings big audience....vegas and orlando are two big spots for industry conventions, obviously took a dive in 9 months

If anyone plays poker and is vegas bound i am told some juicy cash games at bellagio

The big money games at Bellagio are VIP Private events. The Former President of Bellagio, Bobby Baldwin, won a world series of poker ring or two and would hold a suite open so he and his friends could get a" Friendly" poker game. Stakes ran high. Chris Moneymaker joked after he lost in the World Series of Poker that he won more money at a Friday Night game in the Bellagio with Friends than he did winning the WSOP. $100,000 is the common buy-in for the friendly game. Red Rock has a great poker room and you will probably run into Oriel Hershiser there. A number of poker pro's live close and the games get intense but not overly expensive

Guys, this doesn't belong on the board. I will move it to LOTS shortly.
