NEW YORK – Seton Hall senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Park-Lane opened BIG EAST Conference play in a big way last week in a pair of Seton Hall victories. The Pirate point guard led the team with 27.5 points and 6.5 assists per game. On Friday against Xavier, Park-Lane had a game-high 24 points to go with six assists and three rebounds in the Pirates' 19-point victory. Against No. 24 Marquette on Sunday, she erupted for game-highs of 31 points and seven assists.

With 31 points on Sunday, Park-Lane moved past former Pirate Marcia Foster into eighth place on Seton Hall's career scoring list. She also became only the eighth player in Seton Hall history to record 1,400 career points in a Pirate uniform. Park-Lane now has 1,413 career points.

Seton Hall has now won four straight games and has opened the BIG EAST portion of their schedule 2-0. The Hall's victory over No. 24 Marquette on Sunday is its first win over a ranked team since besting No. 24 DePaul on Jan. 20, 2019.

Georgetown's Kennedy Fauntleroy earned Freshman of the Week honors. Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include UConn's Lou Lopez Senechal, DePaul's Anessah Morrow, Marquette's Chloe Marotta, St. John's Jayla Everett and Villanova's Maddy Siegrist.

Seton Hall will return to action on Friday when it hosts local non-conference rival Rider. Tip time is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET. The game will be streamed live by the Pirate Sports Network and available for FloSports subscribers. As always, you'll also be able to hear the contest on 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net.
