Leon Panetta & Tony Soprano

I saw Zero Dark 30 this weekend. I knew the movie was about the CIA's hunt & capture of Bin Laden but was unaware of the cast. So when Tony Soprano (James Gandofini) was cast as Leon Panetta it caught me by surprise. But seriously how much more perfect could the casting have been. Hell the CIA & the mob operate in a very similar manner. Both very secretive, will do whatever necessary to defend their terratory or protect their interests and when necessary eliminate those trying to muscle in on them. ( and I am not saying this in any negative way whatsoever). So when Leon or is it Tony meets with his advisors & the female CIA agent tells him that she is 100% certain that Osama is in that building, Tony just looks them in the eye as only he can & indicates that he will order a hit. At this point I truly expected Paulie Walnuts or Silvio to walk in and execute the plan all by themselves without the aid of the Navy Seal team!!!

I agree with you Tom. Very good casting. I could see Paulie and Chrissy dragging Osama out rolled up in a rug to get rid of his body at sea lol.

Good post Tom. Gandolfini was perfect like you said. He's a great actor and has had some very diverse roles but I'll always see him as "Tony". Zero Dark 30 was excellent and casting was superb. Maybe Drea DeMatia should have been cast in Chastains role...lol
