Had the opportunity to see Lewis Black on Saturday evening… One of my favorite comedians.

This was the fourth time we’ve seen him over the past 15 years or so and figured with the Dem primary, Trump, etc. he would have tons of material. Black is an equal opportunity comic...everybody gets his wrath.

45 minutes into his routine, he barely touched on politics. Then he went into an explanation that we have become so polarized as a country, he felt political humor has lost it’s appeal. Never mentioned Trump, Biden, Bernie by name during the entire show. (He did 90 minutes followed by a 30 minute live stream).

One of the great political comedians of our time and it’s come to this. I have to be honest. I was a little sad because he was so good at it.

During the first couple years of this term, I feel like it was easy and fun to see the humor and hypocrisy coming from both sides. I think we are just now at the point of exhaustion. It's not really funny anymore to have a president so self consumed that he is incapable of separating anything from how it impacts him.

This weekend for example, I see a tweet that says Trump wants to keep people on a cruise ship so the numbers of people infected in the US don't go up... I'm thinking to myself that the tweet was probably out of context and he doesn't want to risk those infected on the ship spreading it once they are off the ship... but no, in full context he was more concerned about the number of infected people within the US because he has made the number about him.

Then I saw the video of him talking about the boy who lived after being picked up by a tornado and is entirely unsympathetic upon hearing the kids family is all dead. A couple years ago, I think you could look at that through a lens where you see the president making a mistake. Now, it's just sad because you know he wasn't making a mistake.

That is all true but has nothing to do with Black’s comments.

Just meant I agreed with Black's comments because of how divided we are. Trump has shown countless times that he is not up to the requirements of the job and yet his approval rating doesn't drop below 42%. The worse it gets, the less I am interested in a humorous take.

I think that has a lot to do with a large part of this country’s dissatisfaction with Washington. Why else would Bernie and Trump be this popular?

Less humor is good-I think you need a dose of reality.

Dems for years cried about trade with China; crim justice reforms; and even a wall....now?? Come one. Let the guy do his job, act like an adult, stop wasting tax payer $$ for sham investigations and hearings, and move on - rubber band will snap back
