The locker room, such an important part of any teams success is much improved from previous years. That also extends off the court as well.

During the KW post game Willard made this comment. One that I had heard from others at SHU previously.

'''BLANK''' is the lowest maintenance player on the team. Just an incredible young man.

Question. Who is BLANK?

I would guess IW. For being a "McDonalds AA" and "Our Best Player" and all that came with him coming here. He really does very little on the court that is negative from a personality standpoint. If you really take everything into account.

Also, KC seems to just kinda roll with it too

One poster above answered Whitehead but casually mentioned Carrington as well.

The answer is Khadeen Carrington.

Willard was effusive in his praise of the Brooklyn guard on and off the court saying he thinks Carrington has the most offensive potential on the team and when he recruited him out of HS thought he would explode in the league by his junior year.

When asked where he thought Carrington is at this stage in his career he said exactly where I thought he would be.

BTW, I have talked to many at SHU and to a person they always mention what a great kid Carrington is.

After the game I brought up Willard's comments to Carrington and he said that he owes who he is to his mom who sacrificed so much bringing him up.

I was amazed at a few games that were tight when we lost track of Khadeen down the stretch. He is our most consistent scorer and he can score in so many different ways. Love his game and have called him "Smooth" since I saw him. Great to hear that he is also a great kid which I never doubted. He should be our first scoring option IMO.

Two biggest wins since these guys got here home vs nova last year and at pc this year both games he put them away at the line. He's the guy i want at the line late in games

Love his game and have called him "Smooth"

Funny because the player he reminded me of coming out of HS was John Morton. Nickname Silk.

Two peas in a pod.

Both were good players at the Hall in their first two years but with Morton he exploded in year three just as Willard predicts for Carrington.

Great pickup by Sha.

He is a quintessential "NY" player. His game is made for college bball. he can get to the rim vs almost any defender and he finishes well. I feel once he gets a higher profile and more respect he will also get more calls and become and "and-1" machine. He ends up on the ground on most of his drives. He will start to get those calls a lot.

Carrington is my favorite player on the team, and I was disappointed the ball wasn't in his hands at the end of the Villanova game, especially after 2-3 cracks at it didn't get us anywhere.

Last night at the end of the first half as the clock was winding down we ran a play for carrington to take the last shot and despite going a little bit early ended up getting fouled on a good drive. Difference is IW can always get off a shot...it might not be a good one but he can get it off. Carrington might struggle against a taller defender. Not sure whose hands I want the ball in when clock is winding down.

IDK about last year... But throughout this year... He is the only "big time" player on our team to stay above the fray... Never getting benched, etc etc.

Kid seems very lunch pail to me.

I like KC a lot but he really needs to take care of the ball better. Both he and IW throw some really ill advised passes.

Glad to read this about KC. He's been outstanding this year.

I said/wrote back when we recruited Carrington that he would end up being the gem of the class when all was said and done. Just based on his HS accolades, if IW wasn't part of that recruiting class we would all have said that KC was a real coup. Glad to hear he is living up to all expectations.

I do fully expect Khadeen to become an all conference player for us next year. One of the reasons why I don't think losing IW (which I'm not saying I want to see happen) will be as painful as one would think. Gives Khadeen more opportunities especially if we have a pass first PG on the team.

At one of the breaks in last night's game Willard called over KC and IW on the court. KC, standing much taller than Willard, put his arm around his coach's neck, resting it on Willard's shoulder in a very natural, chummy way while the coach explained whatever game strategy. I don't recall seeing a college player doing that with a coach. I think it shows a true bond between a player and a coach.

Whitehead might be the most talented, but Carrington is my favorite. Love so many on this team, but Carrington has a calm confidence to him that just commands respect.
