The kids going into the stands is a really nice touch. It's not much different than storming the court without the risk of someone getting trampled on as well as it keeps the opposing team safe.
Fordham Frank they also did it last year. Rock security formed a human wall so the students couldn't charge the court. So the players came to the students.
