That was Word's 1st win vs. a D1 school this season. They lost to an NAIA school in their last game. That's just inexcusable by the Johnnies.

One step forward, three steps back. Let's not fast track Mr Mullin to the college coach's hall of fame just yet. But it doesn't help the conference any if St John's gets blown out by unranked , inferior teams. So I hope this is just a bump in the road and that their coaching staff is up to the task in turning this around.

What BE team was going to take playing this school seriously and be really up for them.After beating Cuse I would bet they all thought all they had to do was show up. This happens all the time in college sports and in happens not infrequently in the OOC schedule.

Incarnate Word was coming off a tough loss to Our Lady of the Lake (unfortunately this is not a joke!).

Incarnate Word is D1. Last year they defeated Nebraska and Princeton, FWIW. This year they are #159 in KenPom's ratings, which is actually much better than most of the teams we've beaten.

But nevertheless a really bad loss for St. John's. Wow.
