He was viewed as an up-and-comer after his first few years there. Then there was the whole resume debacle with the USF job I think - one of the places Slick Rick seems to like to push his guys to. And hasn’t had success since. Odd situation it seems.
The ESPN story makes it seem as if the two sides were discussing an extension as Masiello's contract expires in April. Perhaps the school decided to go ahead and cut ties rather than wait.
They can leave but I don't think they'll be able to play anywhere else this season. As relaxed as the transfer rules now are, I don't believe in-season transfers can play immediately. That presumes they can find a place with an open scholarship for this year.
There is a 6 -10 . freshmen on their roster Adam Walden from Baltimore Md. Any info on him or any interest from us or any other D 1 school ?

But there's a better chance of them hiring Coach K than Gonzo.

Based on what we've heard about Gonzo's run here, I'm not sure he wanted to coach and do whatever else was required of a coach then.
