Everything is a "mass shooting" now. That's by design to have a psychological and emotional impact on people, which results in them supporting gun control policies (and eventually attempts at gun confiscation years from now).
Same thing when they talk about "alpha" and "delta" variants. Every virus has variants, yet we sensationalize these and market them with fancy names to keep people afraid and submissive. Notice how B.117 (or whatever it was called) was dumped in favor of alpha. Catchier and easy for the sheep to remember.

Not really sure why anyone would nitpick about the number of people to quantify if it was a mass shooting or not.
We will never confiscate guns. That line of thinking is based on similar psychological and emotional framing by the gun lobby that you are claiming from anti-gun groups.

You miss the point. Media loves to sensationalize and classify everything as a mass shooting. The numbers are higher than ever and it's not because more shootings are happening. It's because the definition has changed and there is more coast to coast media coverage than ever before.
Exactly, and no one in their right mind believes anything about confiscating guns. What law abiding gun owners reject is having guard-rails put on them without addressing the real root causes of gun violence. None of what's been proposed over the past 10 years would have any material impact on mass shootings, but it would be a check the box accomplishment to make people feel good.
How much do you want to bet that the party that has all three branches, doesn't pass one piece of gun legislation in the next 2-4 years?
Media sensationalizes everything and always will, I just don't think calling a shooting where more than a few people were shot a "mass" shooting is really that off base.
The FBI defined a "mass" murder as being a murder of 4 or more people, and media generally used the same definition for mass shooting as a shooting where 4 or more people were shot.
Will need to be bipartisan since the filibuster would block it, so that seems unlikely.
What's the issue? Dozens of people were shot, I would say that is a mass shooting. A serial murderer is a person who kills more than 3 or more people. Are you really having issues with verbiage as some how some hidden political agenda? Dozens of people were shot, is that not news worthy?
im very curious what race De'Ondre Jermirris is. i cannot tell. and i need to know in case hes white so i can feel guilty.
