Matt Loughlin's Pirate Talk: Sue Regan

This is a great interview. What’s enjoyable about these interviews is the stories about where Seton Hall came from to get to where it is now. Everyone who was there at the time has a story like Sue’s. It’s remarkable. How this university is sitting in the Big East playing games at the Prudential Center is incredible considering what was going on there for so long and the staggering lack of money, that’s still an issue today. Not to mention making it to a National Championship Game on the men’s side.

At least back then you could get by on true grit with people making connections and working their asses off. That’s what made it work. You still can now. Richie was right, it was definitely (and still will be) the people because Lord knows there’s never been good money or resources. Again it’s like the typical little mom and pop that had great staff that make it work and grow despite the odds and being outgunned.
