The ACC Tournament. People snipe about the way his teams play defense, but he an offensive mastermind, which is pretty darned important. Plus, he had an excellent defensive plan against Duke in the semis: Let Okafor get his and shut down the shooters (Duke was just 3-17 on treys). Meanwhile, ND exposed Duke as the bad defensive team that they are. A classic case of the student taking it to the teacher.

Brey's players get better, too. Jerian Grant should probably be First Team All American.

It is interesting how he needed to get to the ACC to get that tourney win.

How hard did ESPN push the ND has spent most of its history as an independent with no emotion of the BE until the sideline reporter slipped up and mention NDs tenure in the BE without a BET title. Bilas is Bias.

Just for fun, I visited the Duke and UNC boards and tweaked about this very fact: How ND didn't win a league championship until joining a conference that, outside of UVA, doesn't place a premium on hard-nosed play and defensive-mindedness.
