Swept the road trip and now sitting pretty at 19-7, 9-5. Let's finish this off!

This team is now 5-2 on the road in the Big East. Wow.

First time in Willard's tenure at SHU we'll finish at least .500 in conference.

Good teams win in all kinds of crazy ways.

Splitting the final four prior to returning to MSG in two weeks would be ideal. That should make us a pretty heavy lock at 21-9, 11-7.

You always want a cushion so we need two wins of our final four games, getting just one might just not be enough.

Two we are in, one we are on wrong side of bubble and would need a win or two at MSG.

Agree. Could get in with two home losses but would probably need to win at butler. Do not like our chances if we lose the next two.

2 more we should be good. 3 and we are lock city.

No way we are losing to Depaul after coming so close to blowing this one.

if we split, no matter how you slice it we would be a lock for the tournament. but as we saw today we could jsut as easy lose all 4.

Carrington & co. thought they were coming to the Garden to put on a show for friends, but ended up getting a power wedgey from the freakishly athletic Red Storm.

I think that is partially true. I also think that Whitehead was due for a bad game, given how unbelievable he has been playing. What is shocking is that it happened against a squad that has the worst guard play in the conference by a long shot.

I was at the game in Queens last year, SJU Senior Day, via tickets from one of my AAU connects. I'm sure our NY kids didn't enjoy what turned into a celebration for the SJU seniors, who were playing their last game at home and essentially cemented their tourney bid with that win. So, yea, I'm sure our kids wanted to beat down what is a terrible SJU team.

We got a taste for Big East tourney. I am sure we stayed at hotel we will be in and it looks like a Thursday late afternoon or late Thursday night game. No Pirate Blue party on Wednesday!

This really is meaningful. .500 in conference is surprisingly a really important benchmark in the Big East. We can do it, we will do it! Thank heavens.

Sometimes the team with nothing to lose plays free and easy and the result is that which you saw today.

If the one is at DePaul, that means a 3-game skid. Not good.

Based on current form Thursday night is the one we need and have the best chance at. PC really not playing well. Need to take advantage of their slump and get this one. It's actually a good matchup for.SH. PC, DePaul and 1 in the BET and we go 22-10. Any doubt then?

I am hoping we get our best crowd of the year on Thursday and the fans propel our team to a great victory over Providence. Come on fans, get to the game!

Sometimes the refs call such a poor game that it helps one team get back into the game and turns an otherwise normal basketball game into a street fight and when that happens the less talented basketball team has an opportunity to bully it's way back into a game.

I am looking to go 4-0. Would not be a miracle to win any game left on our schedule; winning all is a VERY TALL task, but what the hell. Lets play like we have the berth locked up and play for the name on the front of our jerseys. This team should still have a chip on their shoulders. This is not a seventh place BE team.

Go Pirates.

Lets win em all or win 2 out of 3 at least. I want to go into the BE Tourney and NCAAs playing well and also leave any negative thoughts from today behind us.

Agree, Section 112. There are a lot of things we can learn from today too. Our bigs need to jam the ball into the basket when they get in close near shot blockers. Angel, Sanogo, Nzei, et al need to finish more strongly when taking it to the rim.

We have 4 games left. Providence, Xavier, Butler. and DePaul. I like our chances against Providence and DePaul. The other 2 we can win but Xavier is very strong and we do not match up well with Butler. 2-2 is good enough.

The x factor with Xavier is going to be the home crowd. Can we get a raucous crowd? I think we could win with an insane crowd.

Good point so let's go 3-1. We can do it!
