Moderna

Over 70% of New Jerseyans are vaccinated. I see vaccinated positives every day, most don't get terribly ill -- which is the good news. But chances are they are getting it from other vaccinated individuals.
Is it different for a vaccinated person if they receive it from a non vaccinated individual. I imagine it’s the same result either way. Of course to check the vaccinated person would have to be also certain they received it from a non vaccinated person. Curious if the degree of sickness is any worse. Thinking you and others you are working with may have some thoughts regarding this topic. Many questions like this go unanswered and cloud the landscape.

It would be no different.

Lets parse this out.

26% of 5,000 were vaccinated.
1,300 vaccinated and 3,700 unvaccinated.

I'd assume very few under 18, so for ease lets assume that's zero.

80% of adults 18+ have been vaccinated in PA.

So about 3,700 hospitalizations came from 20% of the population and 1,300 came from 80% of the population.

Would like to see the age distributions here as well, but this basically says your risk of being hospitalized with Covid goes up about 1,150% if you are unvaccinated.

Good news for those who are vaccinated.

It’s looking more like comorbitities are having more of an impact on hospitalizations (vaccinated or unvaccinated). Would like to see that data.

This. But the vaccinated people have milder illness, regardless of who they got it from. If 70% of NJ is vaccinated, how does anyone figure that most of the cases are being passed by the unvaccinated?
its easily possible most cases are being passed by unvaccinated. it potentially makes more sense that hospital visits are being caused by the 30% unvaccinated.

its a powerful 30%. the two audiences arent equal. one is very susceptable to spread. and the hospital cases are a very small % of total population.

now it doesnt have to be the case. i can see it either way.

this is intelligent. as opposed to those saying that since 70% people are vaccinated the virus mist be being transmitted by that majority 70%. astonishing thats a conclusion here
