How is this fair to the European , African and Asian people that are waiting in line for ages to enter the USA legally?

Not for anything but people seeking asylum are not illegal in this country.

But the US will have to figure out a better system than what they have right now. Both sides have neglected this for decades.

Crossing the border illegally is illegal.

First offense is up to 6 months in prison. Second offense is 2 years.

Seeking asylum after you enter the border illegally does not excuse the original offense.

Having a border wall was a good place to start. Or go back to Bill Clinton and listen to the way he addressed the border. We unfortunately have a very soft weak president when it comes to the border. Common sense the language he used encouraged the mess we have. He planned on being weak from day one on immigration. In the past it was neglected but still under some controls. Trump tried to do something, but solving problems is not what Washington wants to do.

Well, then you might like what the Biden Administration did. After the Covid Rules ended, Asylum seekers must cross at a port of entry to seek asylum. Otherwise, it is presumed they will be ineligible for asylum.

You may want to run your opinion by NYC Mayor Eric Adams. I think he would beg to differ.

They are not seeking asylum, they are looking for a better/easier life without waiting in line. The media and left ran with the asylum tag and anyone who disagrees is labeled as racist.

I agree that both sides have to do a better job but Biden has just let people in in record numbers. The country just can't handle them all.

For the record - I am all for immigration, it just needs to be done correctly. Each person should have a host that is already here, able to support the people arriving until they can make it on their own.

They have applied for asylum. That’s why the “media and left” call them asylum seekers.

He didn’t state an opinion.
Mayor Adams hits Biden on migrant crisis, says NYC is 'paying for a national problem' - https://gothamist.com/news/mayor-ad...al&utm_source=email&utm_campaign=shared_email

He’s really over run, 1/2 of nyc hotel rooms are housing migrants. Recipe for a disaster, where do tourists who spend money at local restaurants and shows suppose to go. They are losing money on both ends. Federal Government needs to show some leadership quick.

Looking back, this was a brilliant move by Governor Abbott to bus the migrants to NYC and other sanctuary cities. You think Adams wouldn’t be taking a stand against Biden otherwise?

I do.

He also cut off Venezuela back in October and recently cut off Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua.

Interesting stats especially below. When you read the facts on numbers on people coming on international flights and crossing the border with vehicles you realized this isn’t just about numbers crossing on foot. How many are flying and driving and never returning.

Joes plan: Tansitory inflation that isn’t transitory, higher interest rates, higher energy costs, flood the country with new migrants and bring our cities to their knees all while trying to get the debt ceiling increased to finance more of the same.
Remind me what he’s doing that’s positive.

Approximately Half of illegals are people who enter legally and overstay their Visas.

I agree with Adams that more needs to be done by the federal government. Criticisms are warranted.

He's doing his best to get funding for his city, but the number used for those in hotel rooms was clearly just wrong there... and tourism in NY is fine.

Adams claims he's processed aprox. 72,000 migrants and aprox. housing 42,000 (number that has stayed in NYC) NYC has aprox. 107,000 hotel rooms, granted the 42,000 are not all staying in hotel rooms but still sounds like he's got a serious problem. Most hotels runs an occupancy rate of about 70% on a normal basis so he's probably realizing his problem will get worse if this continues. No one outside of the city appears to be helping very much. You would think that with an election coming things should improve but sometimes once the ball starts rolling in the wrong direction it gets harder to stop its momentum.
