Creighton is an exceptional environment. Team is in last place and just lost to DePaul at home and yet the game is a complete sellout. The place gets very loud with 17,500 fans. Creighton fans never boo opponents.
Creighton alumni host a pre-game reception for opposing fans for each BE game at the stadium. The Creighton fans introduce themselves to the opposing fans and try to make everyone feel at home. The event is co-hosted by a local alumnus of the visiting BE team and by a Creighton alumnus. Each host says a few words of welcome and then a special guest speaks. Pat Lyons spoke on Saturday. It was truly a delightful experience. There is a small charge to enter the reception. Fans of each school are asked to make a donation at the door with all proceeds going to the opposing school coach's favorite charity ( CF in Kevin's case). So Creighton fans contribute to Kevin's charity! Unreal.
