Looks like we need to win some games in The Mecca over the next weeks. Like at least 2 and possibly 3. Hoping to take over the place next Sunday.

Well, we need the one against SJU of course... but beyond that we need 2 wins and won't need to worry about the BET.

I just have this feeling that we will be so firmly embedded on the bubble in no man's land that TBET will be very important.

I think 10 BIGEAST wins (regular season) will get us in, but I thought that in '03 as well.

If we can finish 3-3 and win one at the BET I will feel good on selection Sunday.

If we have 10 BE wins with only 1 coming from Butler, Prov, Nova & X... I do not believe that will be enough to get us into the NCAA.

That means 6 of our wins would be from MU, StJ & DePaul.

And our OOC schedule includes 1 "good" win against WSU with 2 "quality" wins against Ole Mis and UGA.

Is that really that good of a 20 win record?

Not with an OCSS of 273. That could easily come back to kill . Holy cow , that's bad scheduling. Team needs to understand the situation they're in and win some games.

If this happens it is just another lesson about padding your win record with cupcakes. Less Wagner, Troy and St. Peters.

Have to see how it all shakes out. We need to finish strong. I'd like to see us get to 11-7 to feel comfortable. That means we're notching at least 2 more quality wins assuming we don't freak out and win at St. John's and at DePaul.

KenPom ranks below:

Away Wed Feb 17 59 Georgetown
Away Sun Feb 21 256 St. John's
Home Thu Feb 25 53 Providence
Home Sun Feb 28 21 Xavier
Away Wed Mar 2 34 Butler
Away Sat Mar 5 164 DePaul

Plus, the LBSU loss swapped Virginia for Bradley. Losing that game was a double-whammy (bad loss, plus missing the opportunity to play a top-rated team) and could be a triple whammy if the OOC strength of schedule holds us down.

But I don't think it'll come to that. By the time Selection Sunday rolls around, I think we'll be solidly in or out. There isn't much of a bubble this year and I don't think we'll be on it.

I see the hall is offering $5 tix to students pretty sweet. No reason to not go. I wish I could get my hands on tix for that price

Don't count on it. Last time we played there, 2 or 3 years ago, I could pick my seat, and there were few SHU fans there.

Donnie, I'll be very disappointed if we don't have a very strong presence there on Sunday. And, if we aren't well represented there, I guess that will show us about our loyalty and passion for our program.

Less Rutgers! Good God, it was bad enough being forced to play them twice when they were in the Big East! Now that they're gone there is no reason to be playing their sorry RPI-killing asses! We need to play high major teams from high major conferences! Playing Rutgers is of absolutely no benefit to us!

Rutgers is our rival and a member of the BIG. If they hire the right coach they can become a major program.

Wow, a roadie against SJU is actually in the Garden. We haven't played St. John's there in years.

If SJU wants to get back to playing big time D1 BB they have to stop playing Big East games in that pit.

It's embarrassing to the league and the school.

I was at the last SJ game in the Garden a few years ago and will be there this Sunday. Even though it's extremely easy to get there from NJ (hop on a train, get off train, walk into arena), I think the crowd will be just as bad as a few years ago. That's unfortunate because with SJ being so down, we can really make our presence known in MSG if we get enough loud fans in there.

Going to a Broadway show Saturday night and game on Sunday. You all should try it. Might do some eating and drinking too!!

Why not? They have the resources and they are in a major conference? If they hired the right coach they would have the opportunity to recruit the NY/NJ area which is rich in talent.

I agree with you. Unlike football where you need to put at least 22 scholarship athletes on the field every game, basketball is but a five-man game. Put two excellent recruiting years together back-to-back and presto you can be a force. Granted, it ain't easy...but it's doable. If they ever did get their act together at RU they could potentially achieve some glory.

So, it's Sunday afternoon in the dead of winter with nothing to do. Are you going to make the trek into New York to support the team? They deserve the support.

Gary- I have the same schedule although we are seeing Bronx Tale at Paper-mill Saturday.

Damn I'm getting old .
