I know we are all emotionally focused on all the feel good momentum the team has right now and rightfully so. But take a minute to check in on our future pirate Myles Powell. He has been absolutely killing it lately and lighting up the scoreboards. The kid will be a really nice addition next year. Looks to be a dead eye shooter. Hits everything from anywhere on the court.

Man, if we can keep the core in tact for another year ( or two) we can be better and even more mature next year. Just need to figure out how to replace Gordon on defense. That's gonna pose the biggest challenge next year if everyone else stays.

He's stepping into a great situation next year. Not a lot of pressure. Just come in, play loose, and fill your role. Could work out very well for him.

Not a lot of pressure, but if he is replacing Gordon, he has huge sneakers to fill.

No one will replace Gordon. Guys will have to step up to the leadership role and play hard. Powell will give us something different and that is a very good shooting guard.

Let's enjoy this year, but defense from the guard position will be a challenge, especially if Thomas gets booted off the team and if IW goes pro. That makes Khadeen the only guard with real defensive ability unless Willard can sign someone to fill the bill.

He doesn't have to replace Gordon because next year the current core will be a year older and experienced and the intangible leadership that Gordon brings to the table will be replaced by that increased experience from the current/returning players.

Gordon has been a Godsend this year. He plays lock down defense. He provides good offense and ball handling skills. He's an emotional leader for the Team. He will definitely be missed even though our Team will be a year older and wiser.

Bingo!

But players graduate and move on. And I agree Gordon has been a gr8 addition, but at the same time setonhall hall is equipped to withstand his loss simply by the maturation of the current roster.

That's a good thing.

Can't wait for the kid to put his SHU jersey on and light it up from outside. Having said that, this video shows me he has much maturing to do. Doesn't follow his shot (he is already at half court by the time his three falls down) and shows up the other team by talking to the crowd. Small sample size and by all accounts he's a good kid. But the showboating will need to change.

This kid acts like that after his shots in a college game hes in for a rude awakening.

Why? It's no different than Angel flexing after he scores or Whitehead giving Greg Marshall an earful after he buries a 3. Our guys play with an edge. Not necessarily my style, but it seems to be working just fine.

Bud that is true. But I would like to see Powell follow his shot. I have no problem with Angel flexing or Isaiah throwing up three fingers. I'm glad Isaiah has stopped looking at (and mouthing something) at the opposing benches.

What players do in HS often radically changes when they get to the next level. Coaching and peer pressure knocks them down a notch or two.

I remember in one of the first games Jerry Walker played for the Hall he made a good defensive play and got in the face of his opponent taunting him. PJ called a TO and ran onto the court and went nuts on Walker. I thought our head coach was going to have a heart attack he was so out of control.

LOL we got blown out that wsu game and Angel did that vs cupcakes. Haven't really noticed that stuff lately....and we're winning

You can also notice benches looking at IW during games when he hits 3's... WSU bench also pointed at him to the refs, during the game this year, after he hit a 3... He def still talks to people... Although it has not been as apparent and to a much lesser degree this year.

And Angel flexed a bunch vs. GTown and I think also during MU.
