St. John’s Athletics Releases 2019-20 Annual Report

QUEENS, N.Y. (August 13, 2020) – The St. John’s Department of Athletics has released its 2019-20 annual report, highlighting the department’s accomplishments and the success of Red Storm student-athletes over the past year.
The annual report celebrates the athletic and academic achievements of St. John’s student-athletes, as well as their commitment to community service during the academic year. The 2019-20 edition also features many team highlights, such as the women’s volleyball team’s memorable run to its second BIG EAST Championship, as well as a successful men’s soccer campaign that culminated with a trip to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16. In addition, 14 student-athletes received All-BIG EAST recognition with six earning major conference awards, including three Athlete of the Year recipients, before the year prematurely came to a close on March 12.
Once again, Red Storm student-athletes shined in the classroom, finishing the year with a 3.51 cumulative grade point average. A program-record 230 student-athletes were named to the 2019-20 BIG EAST All-Academic Team while a conference-best six St. John’s sports programs received BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Awards for posting the highest cumulative grade point average in the league for their respective sport.
