Currently, there is no organized way for SHU fans to lend financial support with smaller contributions. I have experience with fundraising in my community, roughly 5,000 residents, and found that large sums of money can be generated with small donations. Please let me know if you are interested in exploring and assisting in the establishment of a NIL program, for the larger fan base and Seton Hall community.
It would be helpful to have a group of 8 to 10 volunteers to get things rolling. It's quite easy to register a business entity and get a EIN in NJ, everything is done online, having a volunteer with accounting experience would be ideal. Areas of expertise that would be helpful include:
- accounting
- legal
- web design
- marketing
No experience is necessary to become involved, I'm a home builder and dedicated fan.
The new NIL entity will be easily accessible to alumni/fans and very transparent. We have two alumni working diligently to help SHU obtain the best available athletes, thanks Eric and Jcalz88, neither offers options for small donations or much transparency.
NOTE: None of us are happy with the current NIL situation in college athletics, however, we do have the power to assist in a big way with smaller donations. PLEASE DON"T USE THIS THREAD TO TRASH NIL OR CRITICIZE THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO GET INVOLVED.
We can setup a meeting to discuss our options when I'm able to get a decent response. Please email me if you would like to volunteer and be involved: walshtrips@comcast.net
Thanks for your consideration! GO PIRATES!!!
