From our friends at Scout....
On Campus: Weekend of October 27th
EVAN DANIELS
Official visit season is nearing its end, but there are still a number of key visits this coming weekend. Who is headed where? Scout has the latest.
VILLANOVA TO BRING IN 11 RANKED PLAYERS IN 2017 & 2018
Villanova is using their preseason celebration event, Hoops Mania, as a massive recruiting tool.
Coming off a national championship last season, the Wildcats are looking to take advantage of the fan fair and celebration by inviting prospects from four different classes, including some of their key targets in 2017.
The senior prospects taking official visits are Lonnie Walker and Quade Green. They'll also host their current 2017 commitments, Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree and Jermaine Samuels.
They'll also host a large number of underclassmen.
The 2018 prospects expected on campus include Jahvon Quinerly, Immanuel Quickley, Montez Mathis, Nate Roberts, Cameron Reddish, Prentiss Hubb, Jalen Smith, Eric Ayala, Brandon Slater.
Among the 2019 prospects expect are Bryce Wills, Scottie Lewis, Bryan Antoine, Isaiah Wong and Donte Scott.
Quade Green
St. John Neumann HSPhiladelphia, PA
6'0" / 175 lbs
Analysis
Quade Green, a native of Philadelphia, developed and improved his game a great deal during his junior season. Green went from primarily a scoring guard to a true point guard that led the Nike EYBL in assists during his final spring and summer. Green is average athletically and although not super quick, plays at a great pace and understands how to change speeds and use fakes to get where he wants. Green showed very good vision, passing skills and decision making during his final summer on the summer circuit. Green handles the ball well and does well under pressure. Green is also equipped to score offensively, as he's a good shooter from three and comfortable making pull-up jumpers from mid-range.
TEXAS HAS MASSIVE WEEKEND
Texas already has a top 10 class in 2017, but they have a chance to improve that ranking if they were to add either of the two recruits headed to campus this weekend.
Shaka Smart will host Scout's No. 2 overall prospect, Mohamed Bamba, for an official visit. Bamba has also taken an official visit to Michigan, plus has been by Kentucky and Harvard recently. This is the only visit Bamba has scheduled at the moment.
The Longhorns will also host their top point guard target, Matt Coleman. Coleman, a standout at Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill, has already taken official visits to Duke and Stanford. Although he hasn't set a timetable for a decision, Coleman is likely to decide during the early period.
Matt Coleman
Oak Hill AcademyMouth Of Wilson, VA
6'2" / 160 lbs
Analysis
Armed with quickness, speed, outstanding passing skills and top-notch ballhandling, Coleman is a true point guard who can create for himself or teammates. He has made significant progress over the past year as a transition scorer, and he already shows a penchant for running a team. He's a big-time talent and among the best guards in his class.
