NewsNation first blunder?

Another TDS piece that tries to cancel anyone that worked for or with Trump during their careers. If you watch NN, it’s obvious how down the middle they are. The bigger issue is do most Americans like to watch “news” that supports their POV or just news that doesn’t divide.

Unfortunately most people just want to be told what they want to hear.

Their ratings are brutal. News outlets that are not with brutal ratings tend to polarize to one side strongly.

More from me here, not sure nexstar wants a consultant who was involved with ailes and lawsuits and sexual harassment

this tells me they actually are neutral. theyre not pandering to a hive mind. unfortunately, news is all about ratings and not... news

Yep. That's the problem.
If your goal is to make money as a news organization, playing it neutral is a losing proposition currently.

You either have to hope that people will eventually change behaviors and look for less of a slant in their news consumption, or change your model to attract more viewers now.

Sustaining a network/cable channel that is investor funded is hard...you need good ad sales division and spots wont want to be on your platform if you have no viewership

It's pretty sad isn't it? It's early, but if News Nation can't survive what does that say about the average American. We have become divided as a nation and choose to watch/listen to those that support our POV vs. what's objective.

Yeah but you paint msm as this one big group...the right slant is just as big as the left slant

Jennifer Lyons, VP of News at Nextstar’s NewsNation, has resigned, following the exits of two other senior news managers after it was disclosed that former Fox News President Bill Shine was consulting with Nexstar. “We thank her for her efforts in spearheading the launch of NewsNation and we wish her success in whatever she does next,” said Perry Sook, Nexstar CEO. “We have begun a search for her replacement and hope to have that person in place quickly.” On Nexstar’s earnings call last month, Sook said NewsNation’s mission is “being down the middle” in terms of news coverage

Somebody is triggered by Bill Shine. Do you even watch News Nation? They are rated as one of the highest non-biased news stations.
