I’m not really a fan of his, but at least add the context that he is talking about his 2025 budget which includes spending cuts and tax increases to bring the deficit down to less than 0.2% of CA’s GDP.
Shouldn’t be criticizing DOGE, but should get some credit for making some cuts.
Of course. Like I said, I’m not a fan and his record is not good overall, but he was clearly talking about cuts he agreed to for 2025.
Dems need to find a better Presidential candidate than Newsom. He is the complete opposite of someone that relates to working class Americans.

Like I said, I'm not a fan... but if we're being honest here, he made cuts that were unpopular because he needed to.
CA cut billions in spending and eliminated 10,000 state positions. Not saying their budget is now perfect, but if he were a republican, you'd be praising him for making those cuts to bring his budget close for a balanced position next year.
Democrats in general always see ways to spend more but never see a time to make cuts. I'll give him credit for doing the unpopular thing.
I agree he's not the guy, but he's very charismatic which will keep him in the conversation for sure.

The Young Turks, which is one of the most progressive online media outlets, had a lengthy piece recently detailing Newsome's gross, utter, and shady mismanagement of billions of dollars that was supposed to go towards fixing the homelessness crisis in California. The money, in their words, has basically disappeared, with nothing to show for it. Seems it went to all these different non-profits to fund management and executive salaries and god knows what else from the non-profit directors, all of whom have cozy relationships with Newsome. It's absurd.
He has run that state into the ground. I cannot think of a worse potential candidate for 2028. I would vote for literally anyone instead of him.
