I'm hoping we earn a bid this season because right now next season could see the falloff. In fairness you can't get a bid every year. Rhoden is the only quasi star that may be on the roster. Hopefully, pressure and being the focal guy won't bother him as much as Sandro. Assuming all the Seniors don't return there will be quite a few question marks. At this point trying to plug Samuel, Molson and Ike into upper tier BigEast starter roles seems like a stretch. Good role players for sure. Trey Jackson? He's not sniffing a minute this year and he's eligible. Hard to understand how a 4 star HS player who did play one year in a power conference can't adjust to some playing time here??
I guess Weston is the star recruit for next season? I'm assuming he'll be decent on offense and struggle to get this Willard defensive system down as we have 3 and 4 year players that aren't getting it. The rest of the guys?
For me I would be at least concerned about Samuel on this level. I was so excited about his recruitment, but not sure now. Can a player advance that much from an on court "Awareness" level? Ike is a great guy who can add a defensive presence, but is he really a good basketball player even at 7'2? His coach said more or less he could not be on the court vs Nova.
We need an excellent grad transfer for sure. No way I'd pencil in either Samuel or Ike to start next season, no way. Some of these players I mentioned could matriculate into becoming big contributors. At minimum guys have to make big strides to keep SHU in the Conversation.
