Excellent second half and clearly there is talent on this team. Congratulations to the staff and the kids,
coming out two and one after losing that first game is a genuine accomplishment.IW is adjusting to the new role and Desi has vastly improved.I thought Willard did an excellent job substituting and really pleased at how they finished.hem

9 guys scoring. IW playing point and distributing. Could get interesting.

Whitehead and Delgado played well. We need that. IW settled down at the point after a really rough start. Glad to see the resiliency.

Moody was playing out of control, trying to do too much. Reminded me of the way Whitehead had been playing. In the second half we got a look at how good of a point guard Isaiah can be.

Congratulations to the team. Beating a team from the SEC has got to feel good!

I think we have something here. Our forwards are good and developing and basically carrying the team right now.

This as been the strength of the team thus far. And where we have the most depth. Desi, Ish, and Nzei are legit.

Good win for the boys. Wish they had a pure point guard, if they did Whitehead would average 26 a game.

I have no worries about Isaiah. He makes head scratcher plays. But I know he, Khadeen and Angel can play. The four forwards are really opening my eyes. I expected Mike to be good. I had my doubts about Ish, but no more. He will makes us happy for a while. Desi is as good as I hoped he could be but better than I expected. And I have seen enough of Veer to be confident he will be good too. That is alot of talent, all sophs or younger. Not bad Pirate fans, like it or not.

Definitely an entertaining game showing what this team is capable of doing. The front court showed energy and really went after the ball, Ish & Nzie have hops!
Wait, something is radically wrong with this thread, how many response without a real negative comment! This can't last for long. But in the meantime Go Pirates

+1 Let's hope it comes together.

The board is negative when the team plays listlessly and out of control. But we are positive when they play well.

In the second half Carrington handled most of the point guard duties.. IW still tries to force to many passes..

Good win tonight. Expected to come out of Charleston with 2-1. RPI took a hit with LBS loss but Played much better tonight and hope it carries over to Georgia.

With some more wins like this, I may be able to postpone my visit to the psychiatrist. This was a great win and much needed for our mental well being.

Agree with Seton75. We have a solid starting lineup. Gordon, Nzei and Veer are quality subs. After those 8, I would limits minutes of the rest. Defense still needs a lot of work; but feel it has much to do about the system as the players; still too many open looks.

Couldnt help but think of next year. We might actually be good. I have no idea how we will do in conference play however. Right now that i enjoyed that win, and will take it for what it is. When Moody started getting out of control the game fell apart for them.

Also enjoyed some of the dunks today. We rarely have that.

Good win today and rebounding from our poor performance against LBS with two wins is a plus and hopefully provide us with momentum heading into our next game.

Great win. I'm pleased with the overall balance on the team. Nzei, Ish and Desi are playing really well. IW and Kadeen are solid. If Veer heals and Angel plays up to last years standards, we could have a pretty good year.

Nice W today. Ish, Desi, Nzei, Carrington and (in 2nd half) IW played well. Delgado was better. I will give Willard credit for putting Ish on Moody; it made a huge difference.

Somebody complained that Chickenbox is nowhere to be found when we win. He hasn't posted much here in months and it's not just when win. Hope to see him posting win, lose or draw.

As satisfying as today's win was, keep in mind that it came against a team rated to be the SEC's 9th best. Georgia is better and beating them would be a more significant win.

Got to give the coach credit today, really took Moody out of the game, and had the team well prepared to play intense defense and have great ball movement. I have stated several times that i think Willard gets out coached, but tonight, he did the out-coaching. Also must credit players for the effort and team ball. And perhaps most importantly, I have to give IW credit for playing an almost perfect 2nd half after really playing poor 1st half. He and the team showed toughness and resiliency. Also, Delgado played by far his best game of the year tonight (albeit only 4 games in). Great job!

This was our best game in terms of how controlled and focused our guys were. It was a very balanced effort, which is great to see in a young team. IMO, this win is money in the bank because we kept up our confidence late in the game against a decent opponent. Kudos also to the staff for the improvements in the team's performance. The future looks bright for THIS team. Very bright

Next two games are Georgia at home on Saturday and then at George Washington the following Wednesday. Step up time or we'll quickly be on a losing streak.

Good first step today.

Agreed. Early in the season, but the next two games will tell us a lot about this team.

Are any of you going to the GW game. I will be there seeing as I live about five minutes away.

Solid win over a good team and good morale booster for the guys as they take on Georgia and some tough opponents coming up in GW and Wichita State.

I like the fact that we shared the ball and scored inside and out. If we get a few guys hitting threes at a decent clip, it will make our inside game that much stronger. Like the fact that we improved at the FT line in the second half. Need to keep improving at the line, continue to limit turnovers and improve rebounding.

Love the defensive effort from Ish and Nzei. All around, good game to build upon.

I say it was a solid win not a great win. Ole Miss was kind of an odd team. They have some good players and it is possible they'll be better later on in the season. I thought SHU could have been up by 10 points in the first half, but it was a bit too freelance on offense.

Desi was the key in the first half. The second half was different. IW had been playing a spotty game, but he turned it around. There was a point midway through the half where Seton Hall was scoring inside and outside. Lots of followups and they crashed the boards well.

Nzei and Delgado looked really strong in the paint. We haven't had 2 athletes in the paint at the same time for quite some time. Sonogo has the ability to come out and defend away from the basket and can still get some rebounds for you.

It's a big positive that they come home to play Georgia after beating Ole Miss and at 4-1. Nice contributions from most of the players on the roster.

Yes. Which imo proves the talk about a weak schedule foolish.
