per Carino the Highlanders will be in the Atlantic Sun, best known as the home a few years ago of Dunk City. Good for NJIT. Usually a tough out for D1 teams in NJ.

The only college basketball nomad, NJIT, has found a home. Perhaps a better way to put it: The Highlanders earned a home.

They will join the Atlantic Sun Conference in all sports for the 2015-16 school year, replacing Northern Kentucky, which is heading to the Horizon League. A press conference will be held Friday at noon on the Newark campus.

The news,.............

Great move for them. The Atlantic Sun has much more potential than dying conferences like the NEC or MAAC.

They've come a long way from the laughing stocks they were in college BB just a few short years ago.

Good for them.

Atlantic Sun is an exciting league as we all know from FGCU and Mercer's trip. Mercer has since left but the league is still on the upswing.

I thought the America East which has 9 teams currently would have been a nice fit, but any conference is better than no conference.

Will go along nicely with their new arena.

Both are better fits than the Atlantic Sun, but I'm glad NJIT got an invite. Both conferences used NJIT's basketball facility as a reason to not take them, but the NEC can't honestly believe St. Francis and Wagner have anything better. Plus, the new arena will blow most of the NEC and America East facilities out of the water.
