The end of August and the beginning of September is a every slow time for BB news. I reached out to the women's team to get this info re the Canadian trip. As always they were only too happy to help.

Hi Dan,

We did have a good time! It started off a little rocky, losing to McGill and not playing well but the girls really bounced back and learned from it. I know we lost the next game but we could have won had we played it like a real game, and then the last two games we did play like a real game so it was good to see that improvement. This will really help us this year and honestly more next year as well. We think we can get to 14-16 wins this season and get into the NIT, and then really take off next year with the kids we have coming in and sitting out.

TeeTee (Smith) - Played well, shooting over 45% from the field.. Still learning how to be a captain and leader of the team while understanding what we want as a PG. It usually takes a while for our PGs to understand it all.. It took Aleesha (Powell) until the end of her sophomore year at Iona to really get what we wanted, so it's going to take time for her as well

Quanny (Jackson) - Played well overall.. We will be as good as a team depending on how Quanny is. Struggled in two games shooting 1-29 and then the last two games scored in double digits. I think she is still trying to get back in the grove after sitting out the year

Martha (Kuderer) - Very solid for us. Played her butt off and scored the ball well. Paying multiple positions for us and I think she will only get better. We were very pleased with her

Claire (Lundberg) - Played great for us as well, especially the last two games. Finally started hitting her shots when we needed it and I think that will help her now in the real games because she finally saw the ball go in

LuBirdia (Gordon) - Played limited minutes due to her health still.. Hoping to get this better as time goes on

Kaity (Healy) - Only cleared for the last game because she got a concussion the last practice here in the states so it takes 5 days to get medically cleared

Jordan (Molyneaux) - Started for us and played well.. She is still trying to get comfortable as a starter but she did everything asked of her and has had a great summer for us overall

Skyler (Snider) - Still trying to figure out her role and when to shoot it and when not too.. She is a great shooter though and has the ability to create her own shot

Allie (Fitzgerald) - Shoots the ball well from 3. Just won't see minutes right now

Shadeen (Samuels) - Played great for us- Missed one game because her knee was bothering her but the other games she played she is an immediate impact. She will only get better as she gets in better shape and gets better at ball handling. Her upside is HUGE

Deja (Winters) - Struggled until the last game where she hit the game winning three. She is a great shooter she just has to learn when to shoot it and when to drive it. Once she figures out where to get her shot from and how to get it off she will be very good for us

KK (Hilaire) - Biggest surprise for us- Played unbelievable for a freshmen PG and has such poise and calmness to her game. Still struggles to play hard consistently but that will come. We are so impressed with her and she could be a Didi type PG when its all said and done

Jayla (Jones-Pack) - Our other biggest surprise- Played super hard when she was in there and is just a monster defensively. Blocks shots left and right and on the offensive end she knows when to kick it out and find open players. Very happy with her as well

Hope this helps!
