Oct recruiting

Once again, a recruit who was highly regarded by the staff has gone elsewhere. It's not the first time nor will it be the last. The problem is that it's non-stop. It's reached the point where it has become almost laughable. When is the staff going to realize that Seton Hall is NOT a destination school for 4 star recruits & is at most a "safety school" for 2 star and boarder line 3 star players.
When this whole P4P or NIL bullsh#t came out I went on record stating that it will be an automatic excuse for all the players that we lose to other schools. Well, that has come true & I'm no Carnac the Magnificent. It has reached the point where Sha had better take a hard look at the recruiting staff & either make some changes or crawl into the gutter as most of our competitors have done for recruits. Until then, we will be relegated to the bottom tier of the Big East.

Yet Seton Hall has a 4-star freshman.

This kid wasn’t even that good, I mean I wouldn’t have complained at all if we got him but he isn’t a can’t miss player.

Would love to hear us all understand if a local star went elsewhere and we didnt even call.

With the crazy transfer rules, it’s not a bad idea to recruit many of these kids now (even if you don’t get them) for an opportunity later. The current roster has a few examples (Dawes, Richmond, Hutchins-Everett, etc.). Not saying that should be the recruiting strategy, but there can be a return on the time invested.

Totally my feeling when NIL started. We may not get some of these guys initially but later down the road we can get them in the transfer portal and probably for less $$ and a better feeling if they could play at this level.

That’s been the strategy for most every high major program since the transferitis caught steam, even pre-NIL. Why tampering became such an issue.

Most are going for more once they transfer even if they sucked or didn’t play at the previous school.

I wonder if Davis does any actual coaching with the amount of time he seemingly spends being name dropped by these recruits. Hats off to him for hustling

Well, in the practice I attended he was there and like everyone in the gym.....screw up and you did 20 push ups.

I felt like a jerk sitting on the baseline. But I also would have felt like a jerk doing the push ups. I almost did but then I thought they might think I was mocking them. So I sat my old butt down.
