I think most of us thought SHU would probably lose a close game and they did. This would have been a
nice win to have on any tournament resume. It was a winnable game, but they shot poorly for the entire game.
GW is usually a very hard place to play, but I think the announced crowd was a bit over 2200 or so. Not sure
why it wasn't sold out. My point is that SHU struggles on the road and this wasn't really that hostile of an environment. So it kind of went to form with a lack of execution at a road venue.

This team is going to be able to compete with most teams because of athleticism and what each of them
can bring to the court individually. The sum of the parts adds up to something, but it's not a great team. I think
teams with good offensive systems will be problematic for The Hall.

This season is going to be one game at a time and literally one step at a time. I like our chances against Rutgers because they are not a great "system" team. Basically, SHU has to manage its way through the remaining OOC games. There is enough talent where that could happen. Then we'll see what happens in
the BigEast games.

The problem is the team and the coach are on opposite timelines. If this was Year 2 or Year 3 of the Willard Era, think of the positive tones. Thus our dilemma.

Personally I was encouraged by last night and am excited to see if this team continues to develop. I'm trying to block out and compartmentalize that progression and growth are not attributes our staff has shown in 5 years though, LOL.

As far as the shooting it was an off night. IW is better from the outside. I think this was Singh's first true road game and guys tend to struggle in that case. Carrington missed a few but had a good offensive game. Gordon should make some of those shots. He has good form, but he's seems to be a
always short.

As to your other point about the timelines you are correct. There is the KW timeline and the one for a roster that is gaining experience on a night to night basis. It really has to gel within the next few months. What a mess.

Whitehead is a great talent and it's good to have him in our program but I think he'd probably be the first to tell you he's struggled this year.

For the amount of shots he takes and the scoring burden he wants to carry, he has to be better than .364 from the field with a 23:22 A:T mark. It's just not good enough.
