Georgetown playing better lately. It would be nice to see them go into Storrs and upset UConn.

Brings up an interesting question. Every BE teams plays 18 games in like 9.5 weeks. That leaves for 2 "byes" where each team has a week break in between games.

Do you like filling those gaps with games (Gtown @ Uconn, Marquette plays Stetson soon, SJU used to do it with Duke) or do you prefer the break?

I prefer the break. Gives the players some time to recharge their batteries and catch up on their academics as well.

It's a long grind for the kids and time away from BB only helps.

I understand taking a break. PJ played osu and unc during the conf season.

Last year we had a 9days off between Butler and DePaul and still lost to DePaul so sometimes breaks aren't ideal.

yeah, I think I'd prefer the break. You never know how you'll be playing, hot or cold, come the break. I bet Gtown doesn't mind right now though.

Getting snowed in on a January of college hoops isn't such a bad thing...

I don't like the breaks. Yes, a few extra days here and there to refresh is good, but a week is way too much.

I think it depends on the team. A coach needs to know his players. Some teams will thrive during tournament week because playing 3 games in 3 days is okay for them. Some teams need the break. I think that should be a decision a coach makes based on his personnel.

Yeah. This. I dread the week-long-plus breaks. The team rarely plays well in the first game. And donchaknow it is frequently a bad loss. Sigh. Just my knee-jerk take on it.

Gibbs clanks 2 FTs with 19 seconds to go. UConvicys still up 3. 65-62
Gtwn to allows UConn frosh to hit 2 FTs. 67-62.
Peak charges & fouls out.
Gibbs at line &'clanks first FT. Actually hits one. 68-62. 10 seconds.
8-0 run by UConvicts to win 68-62 as they block a SH fav Reggie Cameron shot.
