So Governor Murphy wants to phase out caps of liquor licenses in municipalities over 5 years. I am torn over this. On one hand, the law that has been existence for 80 years is completely outdated and now liquor licenses are going over a million dollars in a town like Montclair.
On the other hand, people that have paid big money for a liquor license will be getting screwed. Moreover, I do enjoy going to a restaurant and saving a few bucks by bringing my own bottles of wine. I would hate to see the end of BYO.

Want a drink with dinner? Murphy pushes plan to make it easier for N.J. restaurants to sell booze.
Opponents say Gov. Phil Murphy's proposal to expand liquor licenses in New Jersey has some big drawbacks.
