Cooley has his Friars putting up quite the response to their recent skid; up 39-16 in the first half against the Hoyas.

Really unfortunate for Georgetown that they're not allowed to fire their godawful coach because of who his father is.

You watch them play and they've got talent, height, just cannot get it together.

I agree, shu09. They look shot. This will be their 4th loss in 5 games with a 3-game home stand up next against Seton Hall, Xavier, and Butler.

I've been a fan of JT3, but the optics of this are very bad. The team has underperformed again.

We need to beat them up on Wednesday.

We cannot let them hang around and steal one from us.

We need this game for our season.

Looking over their resume, their good conference record is smoke and mirrors. They had a fluke win at Xavier where they shot really well and a miracle comeback at home against Creighton. Outside of those moments, they have not beat any of the better teams in the league.

They cut it to a 20 pt deficit at the half down from 25! PC does have XU left on the schedule, but we really need the home game against them.

They'll likely be a small (2-3 point) favorite but seeing this display today and how their season is trending, this is a game Seton Hall needs to win. Get this one and it sets us up for a strong finish at likely 9-5 entering the final four games.

When we beat Georgetown, how many times did we get beat with a backdoor cut? Once, twice if at all? When JT III 1st came into the conference there was a lot more of the Princeton style to his teams, I just don't see it anymore.

Hopefully GTown fans have a mandatory bedtime of 10pm like SHU fans do.

GTown season down the tubes with a 9pm Wednesday start?

Hopefully it works out for us.

I an nj o jt3 fan, b ut if they made a run in the bet it wouldn't surprise je. Hope they don't wake up on Wednesday

330-167 as a head coach. That's a 67% winning percentage. You call that godawful?
Steve Lavin had a 63% winning percentage. Everybody seemed pretty convinced that he was godawful. JTIII consistently underachieves, he's been doing less with more for years. If you don't think he's godawful I invite you to go read a Georgetown message board sometime. They hate him.

Everybody here has posted that they would sign for JT III godawful results. The way they schedule we could not even have competed for those kind of results. Kevin Willard is not exactly Mr. Popular with the fans.

The part about JT Jr. is accurate though as he even seems to overtake his son's home games press conferences.

Georgetown arguably has the most talent in the conference and the on court results are very disappointing if you are a GU fan.

I guess it's all relative. Lavin recruited in Los Angeles and Queens. His ingame management left alot to be desired. He ended up doing a so-so job at SJU. Took a ready made team to the dance, recruited his own guys, but took too long to get them playing good ball. Alot of people liked to rag on him, some of it fair, but he wasn't a godawful coach.

Hoyas playing unbelievably tough in second half. Completely different look to this team. Regardless, providence really is not as good as their ranking. Period.

Our Pirates better be ready to play vs. Hoyas. Hoyas showed great effort and heart in second half. Providence held on to win 75-72.

PC survives 75-72! Let's take it to them from the start at the Rock. They were very shaky the entire 2nd half today.

What? Lavin made the post season 10 of 12 years (8 NCAA) with five sweet sixteens. How is that godawful. And he was dealing with cancer while at SJU. If Willard had half that success this board would want to sign him to a 20 year extension.

UCLA fans hated both Lavin and Ben Howland. At least this year it is not exactly been stellar results with Alford.

Gtwn payed without Hale. Rivera held to a 3 PT field goal for the game and it came in the last minute of the game. Think SH can hold him to 3 points for the game? SH better be more than ready vs Gtwn. If Gwtn has any heart, they will be more than fired up for this game..

DSR was held to 11 in our game. And Hayes is out for our game too.

Hopefully the Hoyas will be as tired against us this week as we apparently were when we lost to Butler.

Fans are fickle and UCLA fans have a high bar, but to call Lavin and JTIII "godawful", is ludicrous.

Lavin's body of work speaks for itself. a lot of noise surrounding his flaws. as a shu fan if you wouldnt take him as your coach the last 10 years youre and idiot or really like losing.

JT3 - 331-169. 10 NCAA Tournament Appearances. 1 Sweet 16. 1 Final Four.

Lavin - 226-131. 8 NCAA Tournament Appearances. 4 Sweet Sixteen. 1 Elite Eight.

So those 2 coaches suck. What does that mean about Willard??? Eddie Jordan? Chris Mullin?

You make some really good points about SJU hiring Mullin. They were saying how they wanted to get back to their past and about recruiting locally. Lavin scheduled those games with St Mary's and USF as recruiting trips and Deangleo Harrrison was not a local kid. But, Mullin has gone with these international recruits at least recently.

I guess it would be like us hiring Arturas Karnisovas as coach. He was or is a pro GM or advisor like Mullin was. Mullin does have Slice and he was good enough for Jamie Dixon and Calapari.

Thanks.
