Good game going on FS1 with Georgetown up at #5 Xavier by 5, about 12 minutes to play.

Georgetown up 6 with about 2 minutes to go.

If they can hold on, big time road win and would get them to 5-2 in the league.

They've lost 3 games to Maryland, Duke, and Villanova by a grand total of 11 points.

Gtwn is a good team despite their mediocre OOC record. They put it all together and they'll be really good.

Dan, you were right! Gtown is not the 5th best team in conference. 2nd or 3rd. However, IMO, X is really overrated. No way are they a final four contender. Top 25 good? Yes. Final Four bound. No way

Get a clue and then buy a dictionary while you're at it.

Do you understand the concept of TO DATE or are you so dense and fixated on your love affair with the Hoyas that your reading comprehension reverts back to your grammar school days.

Every conversation we have had regarding the order of the teams were made based on results. They were not projections.

You and only you just don't see to understand that.

If Campbell can consistently hit the perimeter shot then GT becomes a legitimate threat to be a top 25 team and give us that 5th tourney team . Wouldn't Govan have looked good in Pirate blue.

As good as Georgetown looked last night they have looked equally as bad in other games. As to Xavier being a final four contender... I think there are a lot of teams capable of reaching the final four. There really aren't any teams distancing themselves from the others like last season. Right now there are 16-20 teams who can realistically say they have a shot in march. I think Xavier can say that as of now

Doug Gottlieb had some interesting points about GT on CBS at the half last weekend. He talked about the Princeton offense and why he thinks it hurts GT. He mentioned that the only reason to run the Princeton offense is when you have inferior athletic talent.

Dan has been saying for years how GT lets teams hang around with their offense and it costs them games lots of times.

Slowing the game down and shortening the possessions does usually favor the inferior team, but Georgetown was so good at it during some of their best seasons with JT3 that it didn't matter; being down 7 to them in that pace was like being down 14 to anyone else at normal pace.

Their NCAA performances have a left a lot to be desired over the past few years and that's the bigger issue with them and their reputation.

If you look at the overall resume of work over his 11+ seasons, JT3 has put together an impressive run there including 8 NCAA appearances, a FInal Four, a BET championship, and 3 Big East Regular Season championships. Where do I sign for that? LOL. But it's all relative; over his past 7 full seasons they've made 5 NCAA's and been out the first weekend in all of them.

Plus they were a common bet to rise alongside Villanova in establishing the new brand identity for the "new Big East". Hasn't happened that way. In fact, the opposite. They were just 20-16 in the first two years of the new conference.

The more I see Xavier, the more I think there is no reason why we shouldn't split with them this year. Same with GTown. We'll see.

He is almost following his Dad's path, who was great from 81-89, had a good year or two with Iverson, but at the end it got bad.

GT has the potential to do well but unless they finish top 3 in conference, the OOC work will come back to haunt them in make the tourney. Also, two of the 5 wins were vs DePaul.

Looking at RPI is still way too early, but what the hell... Their RPI right now (Waren Nolan) is a bit down at #74, even after last night's win. They seem to play to the level of their competition a bit, which makes sense because they're relatively young in a lot of areas. Really could've used one of those wins against Maryland, Duke, and Villanova.

Overall = 12-7, 5-2, KP #46, RPI #74
Best wins = Wisconsin (RPI #94, KP #61), Syracuse (RPI #53, KP #37), and at Xavier (RPI #3, KP #15)
Bad losses = Radford (RPI #159, KP# 197), UNC Asheville (RPI #131, KP#124)

RPI
vs. 1-50 = 1-4
vs. 51-100 = 2-1
vs. 101-200 = 5-2
vs. 201+ = 4-0

X had a chance to get back in it but they shot really poorly down the stretch.

This is just my take but how much further do people think JT3 is going to take Georgetown. Seems to me they have plateaued. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have that problem getting to the tourney every year but isn't it time that they actually do some damage in the tourney soon?

I'm not sold Xavier is the 2nd best team in the league. But also don't know who that team is right now either.
