Extra extra read all about it. But, if that 3rd down pass to Beckham had hit the ground Miami would have gotten the ball back with 1:50 remaining and well let's not go there.

Gone to Carolina as James Taylor would say, but actually they are coming here.

Yea before that play I said to my son here we go again. They have to pass it to get the first down, but if it's incomplete....

Good to see them running the no huddle offense well last night - need to do that more. And good to see most of the carries going to Jennings. He ran hard last night. I'd still like to see them get Vereen more involved with a quick swing pass or two. The defense just got by but made some key stops. Our defense is not very good but it was nice to see guys like Selvie get in there making a difference and I noticed much more gang tackling last night - more hustle and desire. D line is very thin going forward with Kuhn getting hurt again and without Moore. A win is a win and this team needed it badly.

How about Eli - 27/31 wow! That is the leader they needed to step up earlier in the season but good for him - he was locked in. Now let's hope we get that effort each and every week of the season.

112, I hope you played Eli on your fantasy team this week. Jennings did play very well and caught some passes that they usually would run for Vereen. The RB back by committee did not look good again early last night it was better that they finally settled on Jennings as the guy. Going to really need to address the front 7 defense in the draft and FA.

It was a nice win. Good to see the offense on the field at the end. The defense gets a lot of the blame (and rightfully so) for these late game meltdowns, but how many chances has the offense had the opportunity to add extra points, get a big third down conversion, etc, and failed to do so.

Miami did it's best Buffalo Bills impression. Some real dumb penalties. I know Campbell has only been HC for a few games, but some bad decisions on his part. Lamar Miller had 7 carries for 69 yards in 2 TDs early in the 2nd quarter. They gave him 5 more carries the rest of the game.

With a chance to put the game away, I'll take Eli to OBJ all day long.

It's not a coincidence that Eli plays this well when there's a balance in the offense and a commitment to the run game because it makes the defense mindful. That 84-yard beauty to Beckham came after Jennings gashed them for a 12 yard run.

Eli was incredible. He spread the ball around and was in total control off the offense. Reminded me how he played at Buffalo earlier this year with regard to his control at the line of scrimmage.

How is Miami's defense statistically one of the worst against the run with the personnel they have up front?

That Giants defense though.... Yikes. The LB's and safeties are just brutal. Every drive with them on the field has your heart in your throat. Even when they stopped Miami. Fortunately they seem to play better at home and will need to have the game of their lives against Carolina.

Better last night but still hard to feel much confidence. Glaring issues still remain. With the other results this weekend and the way the schedules play out Giants almost certainly have to win every game from here to the end. Still see no evidence they're good enough to do that.

If we take one thing out of last night can it be that we're done with Andre Williams? Jeez.

Agreed. The back-7 on defense is scary, but the offense looked better and had a rhythm, sharing. Looked much better than the previous few weeks, IMO.

Williams. SMH. He does not read the line well and does not have the quickness to react thereafter. It's like a double whammy. He'll make a good run when there's a gaping hole. He also cannot catch the ball out of the backfield.

These are all reasons he fell to the 4th round despite his prowess at BC. He's a back that would need to play behind a line like Dallas with a power running scheme. I don't know why they're so stubborn with him, but glad they finally stuck with Jennings/Darkwa.

Again, the numbers don't lie this year:

Jennings = 138 carries, 512 yards, 3.7 yards/carry
Williams = 74 carries, 205 yards, 2.8 yards/carry
Vereen = 52 carries, 216 yards, 4.2 yards/carry
Darkwa = 36 carries, 144 yards, 4.0 yards/carry

I've said this a thousand times, but it bears repeating. Williams is not a good football player. I did have to laugh after the fumble as Coughlin stood there with his hands-on-hip, surprised, goofy look on his face. Ummm...Tom, are you the only person in America who does not realize he's terrible?

Tom C. can still take a hit! Beckam is just ridiculously good. The way received can keep both feet in now is truly amazing. And Eli didn't suck either.

They hadn't won a game in over one calendar month and the 3 consecutive losses over that span were by a total of 10 points. Nice to win.

Let's hope for a big time environment on Sunday and play with some house money against the 13-0 Panthers.

He threw some absolute darts yesterday. That slant to Harris on the GW-drive was a freaking fastball. Evidently he addressed the team this week and Paul Dottino was saying that during last night's game it was the most "emotional" he'd seen Eli on the sideline throughout the game. Eli's all in.

ODB , the gift that just keeps on giving, not only has great hands but his sense of awareness of where he is on the field is astounding plus he's a very smart FB player . Note to TC , please stop this ridiculous RB by committee , find your feature back and give him the ball and use Veeren on passing downs.

If they go back to that committee after last night they deserve to all be fired. Last night should've been it.

Jennings is your bell cow with Darkwa in relief. Vereen the 3rd down slot. Run out of the spread or semi-spread. End of story.

He's certainly in the conversation and definitely the best of the 2014 draft, which had some pretty good WR taken...Mike Evans, Allen Robinson, Martavis Bryant, Sammy Watkins, Kelvin Benjamin, Landry, etc.

Piratz
Every analyst calling the Giants games has questioned the running back by committee as have many former players now working on the networks and yet nothing seems to convince TC that it doesn't work. The other question I have is whether keeping 4 RB's is too many and that roster slot could be better used elsewhere.

I agree on the committee. How anyone watching thought Williams could ever emerge is beyond me. On the roster spot it would depend if someone like a Geramy Davis is a better ST's player than Williams. I don't think they're going to deactivate their 4th Round pick from last year.

Coughlin and McAdoo have been saying they were waiting someone to step up. Well, they got that last night and stuck to what they said, pretty much scrapped the committee distribution. Jennings had 22 carries. The other 3 combined for just 7.

We'll see what happens from here, but I do not want to see a rotation next week in the 1st Quarter until someone steps up game-to-game. The competition's over.

I don't think they're going to deactivate their 4th Round pick from last year.

I think this might be the reason. Same reason Adrian Robinson lasted 2 years longer than he should have.

Ha!

Coach Tom Coughlin admitted Rashad Jennings had a terrific Week 14 performance but wouldn't fully commit to abandoning the four-man committee backfield.

"I have no idea why you people are so hung up on this," Coughlin said. "We have, again, different ability ranges and guys who can be tapped and utilized in many different functions, (Shane) Vereen being another. And we’ll continue to do that as well." All Coughlin would confirm is that Jennings will remain the starter coming off a season-best 24-touch, 102-yard performance Monday night. Jennings should see 15-plus carries against the Panthers this week, but won't be more than a borderline RB2/3.

I disagree with TC on the back situation. Jennings had just had a good series of downs in the first
half and on the next set they put Williams in?? I don't understand why they can't put both Jennings and
Vereen in at the same time in certain situations. When Williams is in by himself it really assists the opposing defense. Right now he'd be a change of pace back.

I'd say this has been a very interesting season, but certainly not an enjoyable one. JPP has made somewhat of a difference, too bad he missed so many games. The defensive talent is just poor on this roster. DRC makes plays, but he misses some chances also. The Prince gets on my nerves. I just don't see 1st round pick talent. I thought Jason Sehorn was a better player for us.

They really needed that Redskin game and they had a no show in the first half. That extra conference loss
will be the difference if the Skins don't lose at least one more game. Can the Giants beat Carolina at home and then at Minnesota in the flex scheduled game? Not sure on that. The Giants best chance is obviously to win all three games and the Eagles beat the Redskins in two weeks at Philly.

Giants cut Brandon Meriweather today. Sounds like it was injury related but was not a formal injury release. Get used to Craig Dahl, Cooper Taylor, and Landon Collins. Those are your safeties from here on out.

They re-signed former DT Barry Cofield, who they drafted in 2006. Evidently Markus Kuhn is hurt.

I'd say this has been a very interesting season, but certainly not an enjoyable one. .

This has been the craziest season I've ever seen. Nothing comes quite close to what's gone on here. I think it's actually setting all time NFL records for how they've lost games.

There have been good Giants teams, bad teams, young teams, sloppy teams, surprising teams, disappointing teams, teams that are humming at 11-1 and implode when a star player shoots themselves in the thigh by accident. Just all kinds. Some crazy streaky teams - Dan Reeves' 1994 team with Dave Brown was 3-0, 3-7, then 9-7, LOL - even teams that lost heartbreakers in the playoffs - Parcells' team in 1989, Fassel's in 1997 and 2002 - but I've never seen anything like this group and they way they have lost with the volume of crushing losses in the closing minute. It's outrageous.

Have to see how it finishes. As crazy as it has been, if they shock the world and win out or even get to 8-8 and win the division, that's a significant improvement from last year's 6-10.
