Ok, Monmouth has a good hoops team which is great to see from a local NJ school. BUT, is it just me or is the whole Monmouth bench love-fest overblown? Sportscenter had one of their top-ten plays lists the other day and in between they would cut to the studio where they had the Monmouth bench "perform" several of their choreographed antics. The announcers were gushing over their routines. I give them (bench mob) credit for wanting to entertain and bringing something new to the hoops experience, but I just don't find it particularly funny or creative. Perhaps if it seemed more spontaneous rather than some contrived arrangement. I want to like it, I really do, but it feels like I'm watching a bad SNL skit.

Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Do the kids actually practice with the team or do they spend their time at practice working on new routines? They should join a theater troupe if acting is their passion in life.

I liked when the Iona coach asked if they were basketball uniforms or cheerleading uniforms.

Was funny at first. Kids showed a lot of passion. But now the act has surpassed the spontaneous nature of what made it funny initially. Now it is boring.

I'm all for them getting on TV. It's hard for a team like Monmouth to get coverage even when they are winning.

I enjoyed it when they covered our bench shananigans with Pete Dill a few years ago. Remember the Hammer of Thor (Hammer of Dill) and the bit with the championship belt ala Aaron Rodgers. That was awesome. I'm fine with the Monmouth stuff too.

hope monmouth gets to the first sat/sun of tournament just so they can show these guys
